The Departed may be nearly 20 years old but as Scorsese is currently in the running for another Best Picture Academy Award, it’s the perfect time to prepare to revisit the film that first won him the accolade. The whopping 10 Academy Award nominations for Killers of the Flower Moon have made Martin Scorsese the most nominated living director, but he’s only taken home Best Picture once so far. Though this edition of The Departed will be released after the 96th Academy Awards, it will be perfect for riding high on a Killers of the Flower Moon win or for celebrating the filmmaker’s last win in the category.
