Married at First Sight: Second Chances – Who Did David Pick and Where Is He Now?

Many fans want to know who David Norton picked on Married at First Sight: Second Chances, and what he’s been up to ever since. The fans may remember the seemingly innocent David Norton as a likable guy who didn’t get a fair chance on Married at First Sight. However, his time on Second Chances – a spinoff that allowed him to choose his own bride was a completely different ballgame. Fans were first introduced to David on Married at First Sight season 3. His boyish charm made him stand out as a huge catch among the prospective grooms. He spoke of wanting to find lasting love and of becoming a devoted husband.

Then along came Ashley Doherty, a petite brunette who was chosen by the experts to be David’s bride on Married at First Sight. Once the two met at the altar, however, she was incredibly disappointed. Ashley felt that David lacked the looks that she had come to expect in a suitor. He did try to endear himself to his new wife, but she was always cold towards him. Then, a mid-season bombshell: Ashley accused David of cheating on her with a woman outside of the show. Needless to say, Ashley demanded a divorce.

Because a lot of fans wanted David to get a second chance at love, he was cast on Married at First Sight: Second Chances. But when David faced more women than he could handle, he wound up revealing to the world that perhaps Ashley had been right about him all along. He was careless with feelings and flirted mercilessly, pitting women against each other and making terrible decisions. In the end, he chose to propose to finalists Isabella and Tara. Neither woman took the decision very well, but both knew they had dodged a bullet. David spoke to The Knot about his marriage to Ashley: “I know it didn’t work out and may have some ‘I told you so’s’ coming my way, but I would rather have a bunch of ‘oh well’s’ in life than a bunch of ‘what if’s.’ I learned so much about myself and how to be a better spouse once I find the right person. It didn’t work out, and that stinks, but I am confident that everything in life happens for a reason. And there is a reason why I was married at first sight to Ashley. I truly believe that this road is taking me to where I need to be.”

Isabella, who was one of David’s Second Chances love interests, later appeared on Married at First Sight Honeymoon Island. As for David, the fans haven’t heard too much from him since the show wrapped production. Given the frosty comments on social media after his behavior on Second Chances, David’s relationship with the fans is very complicated. He has maintained close ties to family and friends, though. Norton was very close to his sister, Carrie, who passed away recently. At the time, David tweeted fond memories of her and even thanked the anonymous person who comforted him through his grief upon learning of her death.

Ashley Doherty’s accusations during MAFS made her look like a bitter person who thought she was better than others. In retrospect, she was probably experiencing a lot of difficulties with a man that she knew was capable of breaking her heart. On Married at First SightSecond Chances, David Norton came across as weak and chauvinistic. Now, the fans are hoping that he’s not allowed to waste any more time on the franchise.
