There is always an air of uncertainty when couples are matched on Married at First Sight. When it came to New Orleans couple Karen and Miles the sense of hesitancy appeared stronger than usual, specifically from the bride-to-be. Now, that they have known each other a little over two weeks, let’s review everything we know about the newlyweds.
For the first time in Married at First Sight history, an identity was revealed to one of the participants before reaching the altar. Karen, 30, found out about her match after a member of her bridal party received a text from producers that was intended for Miles’ groomsmen. Through the text message, she gained the knowledge of Miles’ identity, leading her to his social media. Already in a frenzy about the process she signed up for, she became more doubtful if she was making the right decision because she did not think he was her type. After airing her concerns with producers Karen made the brave choice to still meet her now-husband at the alter.
Unlike his wife, Miles has put complete faith in the expert’s decision. He has shared his eagerness to meet his wife from the day he found out he was engaged. The 26-year-old possesses qualities that the experts and fans believe are a good match for Karen. Hailing from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Miles’ family and friends describe him as being passionate and a good man who is always looking out for others. His passion transcends outside his family and friends, and into his career in education, working with children. Miles natural desire to love has lead him to seek connection through numerous relationships with women.
Although Karen initially felt Miles was not a good match for her, referring to him as too emotional and young she has admitted she can see the potential in a relationship with him. She prefers to take things slow and gradually build a bond with her partner (see video above). The Baton Rouge, Lousiana native has been single for the past five years, working in the field of Human Resources. Her last relationship ended after she found out her ex fathered a baby during their time together, which has caused her to build up some walls.
As the newlyweds get to know one another Karen’s walls are slowly coming down. They have shared their first kiss and even gotten as far as having deeper conversations, including Miles revealing his battle with depression. While things started off rocky for Karen and Miles it’s clear the connection is there and can grow. Karen’s need for a slow and steady pace with Miles’ patience and attentiveness can help them to develop a long-lasting marriage. Even though Karen still expresses concerns about her husband’s maturity and his ability to overlook his needs because he likes taking care of others fans are hoping she can see past that.
