Married at First Sight Exclusive: Christina Doesn’t Mind Mama’s Boy Jokes From Henry’s Dad

Christina and Henry, stars of Married at First Sight season 11, have been struggling to connect, which is causing some MAFS fans to wonder if they are a good match. Speculation about their relationship intensified when Henry’s father made some uncomfortable comments about his son, referring to him as a “mama’s boy” who is also irresponsible. Despite Henry’s father’s remarks, Christina says that the jokes do not negatively impact her opinion of Henry.

When it comes to Christina and Henry’s marriage, the usual MAFS sparks are missing. These two polar opposites are an introvert-extrovert pairing who do not mesh well. Their problems connecting, even in casual conversation, have viewers wondering whether the experts got it wrong. The argument that these two are a mismatch was strengthened by Christina’s inability to remember Henry’s name on their wedding day, presumably due to his quiet demeanor. Henry’s father didn’t help when he characterized his son as sensitive and easy to dominate. Fans were taken aback by Henry’s father’s statements, but Christina has shared a different opinion.

The flight attendant has been attempting to get to know her Married at First Sight partner better, and she’s not letting the opinions of others influence her, including her new husband’s father. In a recent statement with Screen Rant, Christina revealed what she thought after hearing Henry’s dad talk about his son:

I thought that it was unfortunate that his dad focused heavily on the negative attributes of his son instead of showcasing more of the positive qualities that Henry does obtain. I was guessing/hoping that was just his dad’s sense of humor and not really a reflection of Henry.  I didn’t think negatively of Henry after hearing what his dad had to say about him.

While Henry’s father may feel his son has some character flaws, 30-year-old Christina has decided to trust the experts and make an effort to connect with Henry. Talent recruiter Henry struggles with conversation and trying new things, but his new wife is pushing him to grow in those areas. This is good news for their marriage, considering it’s Christina’s first time not being the dominant figure in a relationship. It’s also positive because Henry said he wants someone to push him.

Despite Henry’s father’s remarks, Christina is trying her best to make her marriage work. She deserves some kudos, because many fans find their interactions painful to watch at times. In order to see if their connection improves, tune into Married at First Sight 11, Wednesdays at 8pm EST on The Lifetime Channel.
