Marie Moreau’s New Ability Makes Her The Boys’ Strongest Supe (Not Homelander)

Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Gen V episode 8!

The Gen V season 1 finale reveals that Marie Moreau has an all-new ability, with this confirming that she is easily the strongest supe in The Boys universe (not Homelander). Since the very beginning of The Boys, it has always been assumed that Homelander is the strongest supe in the franchise. Homelander is a Superman clone, with him being invincible and hitting pretty hard. The series hasn’t yet explored Homelander’s vulnerabilities, but there are some, with these keeping him from being all-powerful. Marie Moreau, however, possesses a power that puts her at the top of the food chain, with Gen V showing off what makes her the most powerful supe.

Gen V is finally here, with season 1 of the highly-anticipated spinoff of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys now fully released. The show takes a new look at the world of The Boys, with it this time focusing on Godolkin University, a college exclusively for supes. Gen V follows Marie Moreau, a blood-bending supe who gets the opportunity to attend the prestigious Vought-run university. Upon her arrival, however, Marie and her friends unearth a massive Voguht conspiracy lying under the facade of Godolkin. Throughout the adventure, Marie learns to better control her powers, with her being The Boys‘ most powerful supe by the end of the series.

Marie Moreau Can Stop A Supe’s Heart Using Her Mind

Marie Moreau’s New Ability Makes Her The Boys’ Strongest Supe (Not Homelander)

Marie Moreau has an all-new power that makes her one of The Boys‘ strongest supes, as she can stop a heart with her mind. Marie Moreau has the power to control blood, with her originally just using blood that had already been spilled as projectiles and melee weapons. Later in the series, Marie learns that she can stop blood from flowing out of someone’s wound, only for her to later discover that she can control blood while it is inside someone’s body. She does this by accidentally exploding Rufus’ penis by causing blood to flow to it. Thus, it was speculated that she could kill supes by stopping their blood flow.

As it turns out, Marie actually can instantly kill a supe by using her mind. In the Gen V season 1 finale, Marie is seen fighting several escaped supes. At one point she causes one of the supes to have a heart attack, with them instantly falling to the ground and dying. This is an immensely powerful skill, as it seems like every supe has a heart and blood. Because of this, Marie could theoretically kill any supe using this method, making her almost unstoppable. The range at which Marie can control blood still isn’t known, but it is known that Marie can kill anyone with a sudden heart attack.

Marie Moreau also employs this tactic incredibly fast, with it only taking a second for the supe to drop dead. Depending on how honed this skill is, Marie could possibly work even faster, making her a supreme killing machine. Although she may struggle with some supes, she is undeniably one of the strongest figures in The Boys universe.

Marie Moreau Could Kill Homelander, Right?

The Boys Season 3 Anthony Starr as Homelander

Due to Marie Moreau’s new method of killing, it would make sense that she could kill Homelander. Finding Homelander’s weakness has been the main goal throughout the first three seasons of The Boys, as the titular team has to find out how to kill an unkillable supe. The idea of Marie being able to kill Homelander has actually been hinted at previously. Gen V reveals that Marie Moreau and Victoria Neuman have the same powers, although Neuman prefers to kill by exploding heads. Homelander explains in The Boys season 3 that Neuman can’t explode his head due to his impenetrable skin, meaning that this strategy simply wouldn’t work.

Although Marie may not be able to explode Homelander, there’s nothing that says she can’t kill Homelander by controlling the blood inside his body. Like most other supes, Homelander still has biological needs that keep him alive. If Marie stopped Homelander’s blood from flowing or gave him a severe heart attack, he could die, as impenetrable skin wouldn’t protect him from his own insides. Marie Moreau is the only supes that can access what is under Homelander’s skin, and the new ability she shows off in the Gen V season 1 finale is the perfect power to use against the villain.

Although the act of killing Homelander wouldn’t be that hard for Marie, getting to the point where she can use the power on him is. Several supes saw Marie give the other supe a heart attack, meaning that this power is known. Homelander probably won’t want to get anywhere near her, and even if he does, she might not have enough time to kill him. Homelander is incredibly fast, meaning that he could fly in and fatally injure Marie before she even knows what happened. To kill Homelander, Marie would have to sneak up on him and give him a heart attack, something that is incredibly difficult to pull off.

The Boys Season 1 Supports Marie’s “Strongest Supe” Claim

Although Gen V hasn’t explicitly called Marie Moreau The Boys‘ strongest supe, The Boys season 1 actually supports this claim. As has been explained by the series, the innards of most supes are vulnerable, which is why Marie could target Homelander. This is exemplified by the death of Translucent in The Boys season 1, with Billy Butcher and Hughie killing him by shoving an explosive up his butt. Accessing the insides of supes seems like the best approach to killing them, and thanks to Marie’s helpful blood-bending powers, it seems like she’ll have no problem with this barrier.

Marie Moreau being a supe that has unparalleled access to the inside of others makes her a valuable asset, one that plenty of characters from The Boys will probably want to get their hands on. The Boys will undoubtedly want to recruit her, as killing supes by accessing their insides has been their modus operandi since season 1. However, it also implies that Victoria Neuman has a similar level of strength, as she could change her strategy from exploding heads to stopping hearts at any point. The power dynamic of The Boys universe has changed forever, and its all thanks to Gen V‘s Marie Moreau reveal.
