Made For Love Renewed For Season 2 At HBO Max

Made for Love has been renewed for season 2 at HBO Max. The dark romantic comedy series stars Cristin Milioti as Hazel Green, a woman running away from her dismal marriage with her tech billionaire husband, Byron (Billy Magnussen). Byron has implanted a monitoring device in her brain that allows him to track her and her “emotional data.” As she fights to gain freedom and independence, Hazel returns to her hometown to stay with her elderly father Herbert (Ray Romano). Adapted from Alissa Nutting’s novel of the same name, the eight-episode series premiered on HBO Max in April to critical praise, particularly for Milioti’s performance.

Now, the series has been renewed for a second season. Per Deadline, HBO Max has renewed Made for Love for season 2. Executive producer, Christina Lee, who was also the showrunner for season 1, will return to run season 2 along with Nutting. Suzanna Makkos, EVP Original Comedy and Adult Animation at HBO Max released the statement below:

Made for Love is funny, dark and entirely unique. We are thrilled to be reuniting with this dream team of talented producers, incredible cast, and CGI dolphins to tell the next chapter of this exciting story.

Made for Love also stars Dan Bakkedahl, Noma Dumezweni, Augusto Aguilera and Caleb Foote. The series is one of a few shows being renewed for a second season at HBO Max. Kaley Cuoco’s comedy-drama series, The Flight Attendant, and Ridley Scott’s sci-fi series, Raised by Wolves, have also been renewed on the streaming giant.
