Ludwig has beaten Elden Ring after streaming for a total of four days and six hours with minimal breaks. The streamer has amassed millions of subscribers since he started streaming in 2018, quickly rising in popularity after Ludwig completed a 31-day stream in March and April of 2021. Despite success on Twitch, the content creator signed an exclusivity deal with YouTube in late 2021, meaning that Ludwig now streams solely on YouTube.
The latest release from developer FromSoftware, Elden Ring has been one of the most highly-anticipated games of the last few years. Following on from the studio’s previous tough-as-nails hits like Dark Souls and Bloodborne, hopes for Elden Ring were extremely high, but the game has comfortable bested its predecessors in review scores and general fan reception. Interest in the game extends beyond players, with many enjoying the gameplay of big-name streamers across both Twitch and YouTube. Elden Ring enjoyed success on Twitch, having the third-best Twitch debut of all time.
Streamer Ludwig started his Elden Ring stream on February 24, with his Tarnished dying 701 times during the four-day and six-hour-long stream before he beat the game (via InvenGlobal). Ludwig only took breaks for eating, sleeping, and recording a podcast, before finally killing the Elden Beast and completing the game with 18,000 viewers on February 28. According to TwitchMetrics, Elden Ring is already one of the most-watched games on the platform, with an average of 58,000 viewers and 168 streams on Twitch at any time. Ludwig’s stream isn’t just impressive in terms of the content creator’s dedication – it’s also impressive due to the difficulty and length of Elden Ring. While it was previously revealed by the developer that the game can be beaten in 30 hours, it’s also possible to spend hundreds of hours in the Lands Between, especially if a player decides to explore everything the game has to offer. The title is also challenging, with difficult gameplay reminiscent of previous FromSoftware releases, meaning those wishing to beat it quickly need to have the skills – and patience – to survive.
With Elden Ring currently dominating on both Twitch and YouTube, Ludwig is far from the only content creator sharing their impressive exploits as they journey through the game, though with the title being a fairly new release, there are still lots of streamers still working towards the end. While Ludwig hasn’t yet shared what his next multi-day stream may focus on, fans can undoubtedly expect lots more gameplay from the YouTuber.
