Lucifer Season 6 First Look Image Shows The Devil & A DeLorean

The first image from Lucifer season 6 reveals the titular Devil posing with a DeLorean. The Fox-turned-Netflix series was expected to come to an end after season 5, so fans were pleasantly surprised to hear star Tom Ellis had signed another contract to return for another batch of episodes. Lucifer season 6 will be its last, and it’s anyone’s guess as to when it will debut on Netflix. Production on the season wrapped up earlier this year, and based on the reactions of the cast and crew, Lucifer will have an emotional conclusion.

Lucifer season 5 dropped on Netflix at the end of May, and it featured several game-changing twists for the series. In addition to the devastating loss of Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro), Lucifer got quite the promotion from dear old Dad (Dennis Haysbert). By the end of Lucifer season 5, part 2, the Devil had officially been installed as the new God. The show’s last 10 episodes are expected to grapple with this seismic change, which is also guaranteed to impact Lucifer’s relationship with Chloe Decker (Lauren German).

Ellis gave fans a devilishly delightful surprise on Thursday by revealing the first image from Lucifer season 6. The behind the scenes picture shows Lucifer, as impeccably dressed as always, standing alongside a DeLorean. No word yet on if this car is capable of time travel. All Ellis wrote by way of a caption is “Good things are coming.” You can see the post down below.

As this is a behind the scenes shot, it doesn’t give much of an idea about what’s in store for Lucifer season 6, save for the fact that the new God might have a new ride. It’s nice to see that his promotion hasn’t changed Lucifer’s style, though that might be the only part of his life left untouched. Going from the ruler of Hell to God is quite the change, and it’ll be exciting to see how Lucifer handles it. Perhaps his first order of business is getting a new car for driving around LA.

As Lucifer season 5 just came to a close two months ago, one shouldn’t expect season 6 to arrive just yet. Netflix will surely want to build up to Lucifer‘s end and give it a proper send off, and premiering the final season so close to the previous one wouldn’t work. The earliest the series could return is the end of this year, but early 2022 is just as likely. Hopefully, as the wait continues for Lucifer season 6, Ellis will provide more behind the scenes peeks at what’s ahead.
