Lucifer Season 5 Video Teases Chloe Decker Searching For Missing Lucifer

The official Lucifer Twitter account shared a fancam video of Chloe Decker that ends with a sneak peak of what’s to come in the second half of season 5. After an action packed eight episodes that make up the first half of season 5, Lucifer fans are highly anticipating the release of season 5b on Netflix. The story – which will continue for one more season than expected – has multiple plot lines that still need to be resolved, such as what will happen next for the romantic relationship between Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) and Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). Another mystery surrounds Charlie, the newborn son to the angel Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) and a mortal, Dr. Linda Martin (Rachel Harris). And, of course, there is still the problem of Lucifer’s truly evil twin, Michael (also played by Ellis), wreaking havoc on everyone’s lives, leading a certain Somebody returning to intervene in His children’s fighting.

The first half of Lucifer season 5 ended with an epic battle between celestials in the middle of the LAPD precinct. An intimate conversation between Lucifer and Chloe gets cut short when Lucifer realizes that time has frozen – not slowed down the way Amenadiel can control it, but completely frozen. With Lucifer nervous about his strained relationship and Amenadiel stressing over whether or not his son is mortal, the brothers face off against Michael and the demon Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt). During the face-off, viewers are reminded that time is frozen when Maze pushes Lucifer through a window pane and the shattered glass suspends in mid-air rather than falling to the ground. Finally, the fight is interrupted by a boom, an ethereal light, and the reveal that God (Dennis Haysbert) has returned to Earth.

A new video shared by the official Lucifer Twitter shows the glass finally dropping to the ground as Chloe searches the precinct for her partner. The teaser is squeezed in at the end of a fancam for Chloe Decker, showing off epic scenes of the detective. Although the sneak peek is only a few seconds, it provides important insight to what is to come in Lucifer, particularly whether or not the celestials left the precinct to go to Heaven, Hell, or some other place to resolve their issues. See below to see the full video:

Ever since the show was cancelled by Fox and picked up by Netflix, Lucifer has become darker, more fast-paced, and even raunchier. With Lucifer renewed for season 6, the show will have the chance to burn through more story to the satisfaction of the many dedicated fans. Not only are there numerous paths for the show to go down after the introduction of God, the remaining episodes will include an explanation to Michael’s shoulder injury, which will hopefully include flashbacks to the celestials’ past.

Lucifer will also be experimenting more with form and content. There have been multiple teasers of a musical episode, including a clip of the cast dancing and singing at a crime scene on a football field. Fans have already seen the musical talents of Lucifer and Maze in previous episodes, but they have yet to hear the singing voices of Chloe, Ella Gomez (Aimee Garcia), or Daniel Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro). Furthermore, the show will use the fact that it is, in some form, a cop show and plans to discuss police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement. In short, fans have a ton to look forward to in the last season and a half of Lucifer.
