Lucifer: 5 Characters Who Would Make The Best Romantic Partners (& 5 Who Would Be The Worst)

Lucifer: 5 Characters Who Would Make The Best Romantic Partners (& 5 Who Would Be The Worst)

In the world of angels, demons, and crimes, dating can be more difficult than one could imagine. Lucifer proves this is the case. The show works with a lot of supernatural drama that makes the characters’ lives more difficult. As a result, they sometimes struggle to build romantic relationships since they face many unusual dangers.

Despite that, the show contains a fair share of romances. The most notable one is the developing relationship between Lucifer himself and Chloe Decker. But other characters also tried their luck in dating. However, not everybody on Lucifer is such a good partner, judging by their character, actions, or previous relationships.

Best: Daniel Espinoza

Lucifer: 5 Characters Who Would Make The Best Romantic Partners (& 5 Who Would Be The Worst)

Just like most characters on the show, Dan has both good and bad traits. He lied to Chloe in the past while they were still together and was partially responsible for her career taking a hit.

However, since then, Dan has turned things around and tried his best to be a good person. It might not always be enough but there’s no denying that Dan cared for Charlotte, for example, so he’s capable of putting in the effort.

Worst: Marcus Pierce

Tom Welling as Marcus Pierce in Lucifer

Played by Tom Welling, lieutenant Marcus Pierce was handsome and charismatic. He started courting Chloe, and for a while, it looked like this couple would work out. However, Marcus eventually revealed his true face – he was the immortal Cain who killed his brother and was cursed for it.

Marcus manipulated Chloe, he lied to her, later tried to kill Amenadiel, and murdered Charlotte in the process. His manipulative nature as well as his ability to kill all make him unsuitable as a potential partner.

Best: Linda Martin

Lucifer Doctor Linda Martin

Doctor Linda Martin is one of the more stable characters on the show. She’s not perfect and sometimes makes questionable decisions (such as sleeping with Lucifer even though he was her patient).

Overall, though, Linda is smart, loyal to her friends, and wants to help people she cares about. All of these are desirable triats in a romantic partner.

Worst: Pete

Ella's boyfriend Pete is a serial killer on Lucifer

The show is full of demons – yet Pete, a human, is one of the worst characters. That speaks volumes about him. Pete originally posed as a kind and understanding man. He and Ella started dating and Ella looked happy.

But Ella later found out Pete was a serial killer who was just faking all of his kind behavior and originally wanted to kill her. Just like other liars on the show, such as Pierce, dating Pete would be a spectacularly bad idea.

Best: Amenadiel

Lucifer Amenadiel and Lucifer in Dr. Linda's office

Amenadiel sometimes loses his cool, especially when his brother Lucifer is being difficult – but most of the time, Amenadiel is the epitome of calmness. He’s kind to people and belongs among the nicest character on the show.

Amenadiel didn’t like Earth and people at first, but he grew closer to them over time. He seems like a devoted partner to Linda and father to his son Charlie. He might not always do the right thing but Amenadiel would never stop trying to improve his relationship. Not everybody puts in that kind of effort.

Worst: Eve

Eve looks at Lucifer with a smile

Eve was beautiful and charismatic, no arguments about that. However, she was also crazy in love with Lucifer, almost obsessed even. Nobody could compare to Lucifer in Eve’s mind.

That would be a tough pill to swallow for anyone who would be interested in her. It took Eve a long time to realize she and Lucifer would never work out, and by then, even Maze, who loved her, seemed to have given up on Eve.

Best: Chloe Decker

Chloe and Lucifer

It’s true that it takes Chloe a while to open up to people. She seems consumed by her job and by raising her daughter Trixie. But as the show already proved, Chloe has the ability to fall in love and give someone new a chance.

Even though dating Lucifer is no piece of cake, Chloe handles it to the best of her abilities. She’s smart, driven, and able to come up with solutions to many problems – all things to cherish in a romantic partner.

Worst: Maze

Lesley Ann Brandt as Mazikeen Maze Lucifer

Maze just doesn’t have any luck when it comes to romance. She tried to date Amenadiel but he eventually ended up with Linda. And as for Maze’s love for Eve, that was a disaster from the beginning.

Maze is a badass fighter and fiercely protective, but she still struggles with finding her path in life, figuring out who she wants to be. And until she figures this out, she most likely won’t be ready for romance.

Best: Ella Lopez

Lucifer Ella Lopez is hugging Lucifer

Ella is by far one of the nicest characters on the show. She’s kind, loyal to her friends, intelligent, and optimistic. Ella is like a big ball of sunshine and she brightens every place she goes to.

Her only major fault is that she has bad taste in men. But that’s not something Ella couldn’t change if she focuses on it and tries hard enough.

Worst: Michael

Tom Ellis as Michael in Lucifer hugs Chloe in season 5

Michael might look just like his brother Lucifer but that’s where their similarities end. Michael is a backstabbing and manipulative person who doesn’t care who he hurts – as long as he gets what he wants.

And what he wants is to get revenge on Lucifer. The first time Michael showed up, he lied to Chloe and planned to break her heart. Dating Michael, what with all his complexes and bad character traits, would be a terrible idea.
