Despite only having two seasons (so far), Love, Victor has solidified itself as one of the great teen dramedy series of recent years. Set in the same universe as the hit teen movie Love, Simon, the series follows Victor as he explores his sexuality while seemingly trying to adjust to a new school.
Like many teen shows, Love, Victor includes quite a lot of romance as these high schoolers attempt to find love within the four walls of Creekwood High. Love, Simon may have had Simon’s grandiose romantic gesture on the Ferris Wheel but Love, Victor has its own fair share of iconic romantic gestures. From small ones to grand ones, love is definitely in the air at Creekwood High.
Victor Declaring Benji His Boyfriend In The Hallway
Despite only becoming official in season two, Victor and Benji have had their fair share of romantic gestures already in their relationship. As the more outspoken of the couple, Benji is usually the one pulling the romantic gestures but that changed in season two when Victor stepped up to the plate.
After realizing he made a mistake not coming out and Creekwood on the first day of his second year, Victor decides to right the wrong by proclaiming he’s dating Benji in the middle of the hallway on the second day. The gesture was extremely romantic considering Victor knew how disappointed Benji was that they couldn’t show affection at school before then.
Armando Brining Isabel Sundae Toppings
Armando and Isabel have had a rocky relationship. After all, the whole reason the Salazar’s move to Creekwood is because Isabel had an affair with one of her student’s parents back in Texas. Despite officially separating this season, Isabel and Armando still managed to show each other how much they care in subtle ways.
In the final episode of season two, Armando shows up at the apartment with a bottle of hot fudge because he knows Isabel planned to spend the night eating a sundae and drowning her feelings. The simple gesture not only shows that Armando still knows his wife but it also shows that he still cares deeply for her.
Andrew Sending Mia A Care Package
Andrew and Mia are another couple who have had an on-again-off-again relationship since the start of the show. Mia’s family trauma has caused her to push Andrew away more times than one can count and yet Andrew continues to pursue her respectfully.
While Andrew might be cocky and in-your-face at school, he approaches his relationship with Mia in a much more timid way choosing more lowkey romantic gestures. During season two, Mia spends the entire summer away at camp and instead of surprising her by showing up, Andrew decides to give her her space and instead sends her a carefully crafted care package with a romantic note.
Lake Declaring Her Feelings For Felix At The School Dance
During season one, Lake is very much a girl who is obsessed with her image and needs a boyfriend that fits that lifestyle. Felix is a good-hearted young man who might not be perfect, but he definitely has a lot of love to give. While it seems like these two would be a disaster, they’re also quite good together.
They end up secretly hooking up, which starts to get to Felix. To prove she’s serious about Felix, Lake pulls off one of the most popular romantic gestures of all time: declaring her feelings for Lake on stage during a high school dance. And just like it always does, the gesture works.
Benji Dancing At The Basketball Game
Speaking of traditional romantic gestures, nothing makes an audience and a love interest swoon more than a romantic gesture that includes an epic dance routine. Move over, 10 Things I Hate About You because Love, Victor has raised the bar.
After initially dissing Victor and his interest in basketball, Benji makes it up to him by not only showing up at one of his games but also participating in the silly dance routine that the rest of the basketball players’ significant others do to cheer on the team. It might seem cheesy, but it means the world to Victor.
Lucy Offering To Hang Out With Lake
Lucy came out of left field during season two, but she quickly became a scene-stealer, especially in the final episode. Originally introduced as Andrew’s summer girlfriend, the two eventually break up and Lucy stays relevant through her interactions with the rest of the main cast.
In fact, during the final episode, Lucy comes to Lake’s rescue on more than one occasion during Mia’s father’s wedding. And while asking someone to hang out with them might not seem like a romantic gesture, the tension between these two was not lost on fans. Not to mention, Lucy pays Lake an intense compliment along with the offer.
Andrew Taking Mia To See Her Mom
Andrew’s romantic gestures towards Mia start out small in season two, but by the end of the season, they’ve grown drastically. Sensing Mia’s disappointment in her father choosing to take the job at Stanford despite Mia’s protests, Andrew is determined to cheer her up.
His love for Mia and his need to see her happy runs so deep that he agrees to accompany her on a road trip to visit her estranged mother when the wedding is over. It might not seem romantic, but supporting a significant other during a hard time is what love and romance is really all about.
Pilar Hiding The Swedish Fish In Felix’s Coat Jacket
Pilar is more than just Victor’s angsty little sister and that becomes clear this season as she forges her own friendships in Creekwood, including deepening her friendship with Felix. While it was clear last season that Pilar might like Felix more than a friend, those feelings are only amplified this season when Felix moves in with the Salazar family.
Pilar is definitely one for more subtle romantic gestures, but she lays them on thick when it comes to Felix. Not only does she lend him money to cover his rent, but she also hides his mom’s favorite candy in his coat jacket when she learns that she’s coming home. Buying candy for your crush’s mom might not scream romance, but it does show that Pilar not only cares but truly listens to Felix.
Benji’s Little Hand Gesture To Show Victor He Cares
While there is no denying that Benji knows how to pull off a grand romantic gesture, he’s also the king of small romantic gestures too. After Victor decides he’s not ready to come out at Creekwood, Benji adjusts his expectations and finds a different way to show Victor affection that won’t draw attention to them.
Whenever Benji feels like holding Victor’s hand or kissing him in public he instead clasps his hands together and then puts them over his heart. It’s a small gesture that shows Victor just how much he cares. Beyond that, it indicates that Benji respects Victor’s decision and won’t pressure him to come out until he’s ready.
Victor Running To The Door Of His Love Interest
According to any romantic movie or television show ever created, nothing says romantic gesture like chasing after the one you love. Despite being more subtle with his romantic gestures, Victor truly pulls out all the stops in the final moments of season two.
After realizing who he wants to be with, Victor takes off running through Creekwood until he winds up at the door of the one he truly loves. And while fans don’t know whose door he showed up at, there’s no denying that the gesture is insanely romantic.
