Love, Victor: 10 Things We Want To See In Season 2

Love, Victor: 10 Things We Want To See In Season 2

The finale of season one of Love, Victor was action-packed. Benji and Victor got together, Mia caught Victor cheating on her, and Victor came out to his family. With so many new plotlines to explore, it will be interesting to see what exactly happens in season two of the Love, Simon spin-off. While all sorts of surprises could take place, here are ten things that absolutely should happen.

Victor’s Family’s Reaction

Love, Victor: 10 Things We Want To See In Season 2

This is given to happen considering that the season one finale ended with Victor coming out to his family, but it will be very interesting to see how Victor’s family reacts to the news. Victor is very close with his mom and seemingly Pilar, so those two will likely be okay with it. However, his father has said in the past that he wasn’t a fan of having a gay son, so let’s hope that he can come around once Victor tells the truth.

More LGBT Representation

Love, Victor is one of the only TV shows with real LGBT representation for a younger audience, and while it’s great that it does exist at all, getting to see even more LGBT characters in the show would be very fantastic. Getting to see other members of the LGBT community would be incredibly valuable for kids questioning their identity or sexuality, especially members of the community that aren’t just part of the “G.” While the show would still very much so be about Victor, other LGBT characters wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Happiness For Mia

Mia was really done dirty in season one. She was cheated on by Victor more than once, and even while he was being a terrible boyfriend she still stood by his side. It’s time that she got some respect when season two rolls around.

She could find a new boyfriend and some real happiness, and maybe even strengthen her relationship with Veronica and her father. Even if these things don’t happen, though, there is one thing that Mia absolutely deserves. An apology from Victor.

Victor Apologizing To Mia

As previously mentioned, Victor did Mia pretty dirty during their entire relationship in season one. While he was going through a lot trying to figure out his sexuality, he treated Mia poorly, going so far as to cheat on her several times. He completely ignored her during his time in New York as well. In season two, Victor needs to apologize to her and work on rebuilding a relationship with her. Mia shouldn’t forgive him too easily, either. He needs to fight to undo his poor treatment of her.

Lake And Felix

Lake and Felix finally became official at the end of season one, and getting to see how their relationship progresses in season two will be a ton of fun. Felix is an absolute king and easily one of the best characters in the show, and Lake is a great character as well. They’re both very different, so seeing how they progress into a real, public relationship will be interesting, and it could spur some great plotlines.

Benji And Victor

While there’s obviously going to be all sorts of drama in season two of the show, seeing Victor and Benji being all cute and in a relationship is a must-have. As previously mentioned, LGBT representation is hard to come by in TV, so seeing the two in a healthy relationship is a necessity.

If Benji and Victor do end up in a relationship we probably will see a lot of this, but it can’t be downplayed how important this will be to many LGBT youths out there.

Some Pushback

Victor and Pilar talking

While Love, Simon was a groundbreaking movie, no one in his life really had a problem with him being gay. While this was fine, it’s important to show all facets of coming out, it isn’t always easy. It would be realistic to see Victor have some hardships relating to coming out, even with his close family. It won’t be easy to watch, but it would be quite realistic for many LGBT people out there.

Pilar Storylines

Pilar smiling in Love, Victor

Pilar was an interesting character in season one, but she had one major problem. She really didn’t have that many of her own storylines. She had very small ones here and there, but no major story. This is something that needs to be remedied in season two, as she’s far too complex of a character to be wasted.

A Solid Andrew Arc

Andrew played a more prevalent role in season one than Pilar did, but he has a lot of opportunities to really shine in season two. He seems to have turned over a new leaf, and he could showcase this change in season two. There are all sorts of ways that he could be integrated into the storyline as less of a villain than in season one, and they will be great to see.

Simon

Simon made a brief appearance in Love, Victor, and that was great to see for fans of the movie. In season two, it would be nice to see more of that. If he can’t show up in-person, then at the very least seeing him continue to narrate the show is a necessity, as it was a fantastic part of season one.
