Love Island USA: Are Carrington & Laurel Still Together?

With every new batch of stunning singles entering Love Island USA, a new string of drama follows. Some sign up expecting summer flings, but some do walk out of the villa with a perfect match. Carrington Rodriguez and Laurel Goldman placing fourth on the finale for America’s favorite couple are making Love Island fans root for their real-life romance. But will reality TV’s “Date Boy” continue to date Laurel outside of the island? The answer is a surprising one.

Carrington and Laurel crossed paths all because of the Casa Amor twist, after his back-to-back couplings and recouplings wit Kaitlynn and Kierstan. With Carrington’s relationships on Love Island USA season 2 not really being ones to write home about, fans saw him be at his vulnerable best during his final speech for Laurel. His declaration of love with the words, “To me you are sheer perfection,” tugged at both Laurel’s and the viewers’ heartstrings. However, some found Carrington’s vows to be too shallow, and his words were supposedly only praising Laurel’s looks. The hurdles the couple faced during their Love Island journey added to the skepticism about their future together off the villa. Fans were convinced that Carrington was going to ghost his lady as soon as the show was done. However, Carrington’s confusion seems to be a thing of the past as he’s revealing that his romance was not just meant for the reels.

While speaking to ET, after his and Laurel’s Love Island exit, the Salt Lake City, Utah native defended his romance by confessing, “Me and Laurel have very realistic expectations for the outside world. We do not want to just end like most couples do when they go on a show like this.” Carrington continued, “We’re not boyfriend and girlfriend, but we are going to call all the time because it is going to be very weird being apart.” Still, Carrington feels that distance is actually a blessing because after being with each other every hour of the day they wish to figure out how much they really want each other. “This is going to be good for us,” he gushed before speaking about going to Auburn, Alabama often to meet Laurel. Carrington shared that he and Laurel will be going on  “one or two trips” every month until they decide it’s “okay to end the long distance.” Carrington further defended his love story by revealing, “Lauren knows how I feel about her. I am working consistently to show her how much I feel and I’m just happy.”

Laurel too, echoed her Love Island lover’s thoughts and spoke about her parents approving of their three-week-old relationship. “My parents were elated by the fact that he was so respectful. I think they love him. For the fact  for them to give me that validation of our relationship meant the world to me.” Lauren also opened up about her feelings for Carrington on Instagram by captioning their photo together with, “This experience not only brought me my handsome man but also along with that so much growth and an amazing new family.” Lauren, Carrington, and the rest of their Love Island finalist family flaunted their first night out on the town via social media. The couple was joined by Cely and Johnny, Moira and Calvin, and the winners of season 2, Justine and Caleb for a fun dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen at Ceasar’s Palace. Carrington and Lauren’s love on Love Island might have had its share of faults and flaws, but it’s certain that the couple is now getting in it for the long haul.
