Love Is Blind Season 5 – Milton & Chris Interview (They “Didn’t Hold Anything Back” This Season)

Love Is Blind season 5 introduces viewers to new singles like Chris Fox and Milton Johnson, both of whom sat down with Screen Rant to discuss their experiences on the series. Asking its participants to take a leap of faith and get to know a potential partner sight unseen, Love Is Blind has become one of the most watched reality TV series on Netflix. Participants get to know each other through a wall, getting engaged before ever meeting face-to-face to see if their connection truly works. While the series has produced a handful of successful couples, it’s better known for its authentic look at relationships than its success stories.

For Love Is Blind viewers, a new season means a batch of new singles to get to know as they start their journeys off in the pods. While there are typically around 30 people participating in the experiment at the beginning, things change rapidly throughout the pod phase. Some participants don’t make deep connections and choose to exit the pods early while others do their best to try and find a relationship through the experiment. With Love Is Blind season 5 introducing a new group of participants, some will be featured during the pod phase more heavily than others.

Though there are typically only a handful of contestants whose journeys are followed throughout the season, the pod phase of the experiment is one of the most exciting times for the Love Is Blind audience to watch. As contestants get to know one another, they open up and get vulnerable, sharing things they may never have thought to if they were face-to-face. For participants like Chris and Milton, who got vulnerable throughout their time in the pods, the experience was a life changing one. Both guys spoke to Screen Rant about how Love Is Blind season 5 has changed them.

Screen Rant: Great to speak with you both today, Chris & Milton! Let’s start with from the beginning – what brought you to Love Is Blind?

Chris: I was so excited to be on Love Is Blind because I was there to find my wife and be surrounded by like-minded people who were there for the same reasons. I was excited to be able to be supported by people who were looking for marriage and looking for their life partner, it was something that enticed me.

Milton: When I first heard about the experiment, it seemed so unconventional, such a unique way to approach marriage. You know, when I sat down and I reflected about who I am, I consider myself a very unconventional person, so was like…yeah, this is obviously the place for me.

Screen Rant: With it being so unconventional, what’s one thing you found unexpected about your experience in the Love Is Blind pods?

Milton: I think when I originally chose to partake in the experiment, I had no idea the relationships that I would build outside of the pods and how much I cherish them. Like, even having Chris right here – to this day, I love Chris, he’s an amazing guy. We hang out all the time and I got to meet a great group of guys, it made me feel like I was back in [college] building these great connections.

Chris: The thing that I found most unexpected was how deep of a connection you can build and how real it becomes with someone through a wall. How you really do fall in love [with] somebody and love is blind, as they say. That’s what was unexpected to me.

Screen Rant: If you do feel like love is blind, can you describe your experience on the show in 3 words?

Chris: Ooh, the whole experience in 3 words? I can give you one – enlightening.

Milton: I think it’s so difficult when you go through this type of experience to break down everything that we’ve done and break it down just within a few hours to show to the world, even. Now you’re asking me to break down all of that into three words?

Screen Rant: I know, it’s a tough one.

Milton: I don’t know if that’s even possible, to be honest.

Screen Rant: Okay, if there aren’t 3 words you can boil it down to, is there one secret that you can share about your time on Love Is Blind?

Milton: I’m really just looking forward to showing my experience and my story with the world. I feel like I’m really unapologetically me, and you’re going to get the full me.

Chris: Yeah, 100%. I think a lot of the guys, including myself and Milton, we have no secrets [to be afraid of] on the show. We were fully giving ourselves to finding our love and life partners through it, so we didn’t hold anything back.

Screen Rant: Chris, you said you feel like love is blind, correct?

Chris: I did say that.

Screen Rant: Milton, do you feel the same way?

Milton: Oh, 100%.

Screen Rant: Without giving too much away, why do you feel that way?

Milton: I think when I first went into the experience, I was a little bit more skeptical. I thought it was possible, but I needed to analyze it for myself – I wanted to run my own numbers. I went and got fully immersed into the experiment, and I’m in the pods like, oh wow. And then you fall in love with people, and feelings grow and you have deeper, more vulnerable conversations. As someone who’s experienced it and gone through the process, love is blind.
