Love Is Blind season 5 features singles from Houston, and there’s a lot to know about Lydia Velez Gonzalez, one of the season’s main cast members. Lydia appeared in the pods, connecting with Izzy Zapata and James Milton Johnson IV, who goes by Milton. After being dumped by Izzy in pursuit of other connections, she threw herself into her relationship with Milton, and the pair became engaged in the first four episodes. Lydia caused plenty of drama in the pods. While she was upset when Izzy ended their connection, saying they were the “same person,” she quickly continued her pursuit with Milton, a 25-year-old petroleum engineer. However, Lydia’s most dramatic moments thus far didn’t include her romantic pursuits but a past flame. It was revealed that Uche Okoroha and Lydia had previously dated and had only broken up months prior. Additionally, Lydia formed a friendship with Uche’s connection in the pods, Aaliyah, knowing she was serious with Uche. Clearly, there’s a lot to learn about Lydia outside the pods.

According to Netflix Tudum, Lydia is 32 years old. Notably, Love Is Blind cast members tend to be older than singles on other dating shows because of the priority placed on getting married. While many dating shows include singles in their 20s, Love Is Blind season 5 cast members are mostly in their late 20s to mid-30s, putting Lydia in the middle. However, her new fiancé, Milton, is only 25. While she claims not to care about his age, their significant age difference might cause tensions in the real world.
