Love is Blind Reunion Show Teases Season 2 Renewal

Netflix’s Love is Blind reunion show teased a season 2 renewal. It was subtle, but definitely a possibility on everyone’s minds. Ushering in the discussion were the two people least likely to be fascinated by the single life: marriage role models Nick and Vanessa Lachey.

At the end of the reunion special, Vanessa became emotional after hearing Giannina and Damian apologize to each other for their less-than-loving start on the show, as well as listening to Lauren Speed discuss her loving connection with husband Cameron Hamilton. Lauren detailed the couple’s first Thanksgiving holiday together and how their respective families came together to celebrate. Vanessa told the group that she was incredibly impressed with Lauren and Cameron’s families accepting their relationship and embracing their choice to be a couple. She then extended her praise to the other singles and couples who were working on their relationships or themselves as a result of appearing on the show.

During her teary-eyed speech, Vanessa congratulated everyone in the cast for “proving that love is blind,” but not before getting a consensus that the cast felt the same. With all of the show’s participants extolling the virtues of the Love is Blind experiment, it seems a waste not to try again.

Love is Blind Reunion Show Teases Season 2 Renewal

So why is Netflix dragging its heels in making a season 2 announcement? Perhaps it’s the cost of production. The streaming service utilized a facility in Atlanta, Georgia to house its set complete with those infamous pods that everyone is talking about. Since Love Is Blind shares a production company with another groundbreaking reality show, Married at First Sight, it’s still up in the air whether the show will follow its formula by moving from city to city. If it does, Netflix may be waiting until the details are ironed out to do a proper announcement to get hopefuls excited about joining the cast. Also, the development and production bigwigs could be trying to figure out a way to lessen the long wait between the completion of the season and its release. After all, it took a year and a half from the actual finale of Love is Blind to air the series.

When network television has a hit on its hands, there’s no hesitation in announcing an additional season as quickly as possible. Netflix has to be excited about the warm reception its latest offering has gotten. However, logistics had to have played a part in the streaming service dragging its heels about a season 2. True, Netflix has many shows on its platform that have only produced one season, but those shows didn’t have the ratings that this one does. The reunion special did a great job of advocating for the formula that love is blind. So, just like these lucky singles, viewers have to take that leap of faith that their new love is here to stay.
