Loop Hero Will Patch Its Most Annoying Issue

Loop Hero Will Patch Its Most Annoying Issue

After only a week, Loop Hero has attracted 500,000 players to begin their winding journey around the loop. Developer Four Quarters announced this achievement with a press release on March 11, and also teased an upcoming update to Loop Hero. The retro-style roguelite has won gamers over with its devilishly addictive card-based gameplay that transforms the typically hack-and-slash genre into a strategy title. Its uniqueness has garnered Loop Hero glowing reviews on Steam, but it has one fatal flaw that Four Quarters will soon address with its next patch.

Once players set off on an expedition, they’re unable to save their progress if they have to step away from the game for a while. Users are forced to leave the game open and paused to continue later, since exiting Loop Hero will make them lose all of their progression. That will no longer be the case soon.

Four Quarters announced that it’s focusing on adding a saving system during expeditions in its next quality-of-life update. This way, players won’t be forced to leave the game running and potentially lose precious loot or a stellar loop build if the game were to crash or their computer was to restart for an update. The developer will also add new speed settings to improve the tedium of the early game, plus a new deck of traits gained from bosses. So when will Loop Hero‘s biggest update to date release?

Loop Hero: When The Save System Update Is Coming

Loop Hero Will Patch Its Most Annoying Issue

Four Quarters did not provide a timeline for when Loop Hero‘s biggest update will go live, but it likely won’t take long. Since the game’s March 4 release, the developer has already patched Loop Hero twice (on March 6 and 7). These changes were minor compared to creating a whole new system and a new set of Loop Hero cards, but it showed that the team is paying close attention to its community of fans and is eager to provide quality-of-life changes quickly.

The most time-consuming part of the upcoming patch will likely be the trait cards, which will need to be designed, balanced, drawn, and implemented. It’s unclear if Four Quarters started the new deck from scratch when it was announced or if the developer has been working on it since before Loop Hero launched. Seeing how development on the new traits could have only just begun, it possible that the patch will go live in the next month or two.
