Look Back Confirmed – Anime Adaptation of Critically Acclaimed Manga From Chainsaw Man Creator Announced

After Chainsaw Man, the story that Tatsuki Fujimoto is best known for is probably 2021’s Look Back, and fans of that story can rejoice as it’s receiving an anime adaptation. The story was written in the interim between parts 1 and 2 of Chainsaw Man, and despite only having a single volume’s worth of content, it immediately became a hit with fans and critics alike for being a beautifully melancholic work that perfectly highlighted Fujimoto’s abilities as a writer.

Look Back was quick to become one of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s most popular works, and now, the story is officially set to be animated. It was recently announced that Studio Durian will be adapting Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Look Back into a feature film set to be released on June 28, with Flip Flappers director Kiyotaka Oshiyama set to direct.

Nothing else is known about the film at this point, but with how great of a story Look Back is, with any luck, the film adaptation is sure to live up to its quality.
