Life After Lockup: Andrea Claims Lamar’s Mom Called Her Kids ‘Too Dark’

Despite relocating to Los Angeles, it appears that Life After Lockup star Andrea Edwards is still having issues with getting to know Lamar’s Jackson’s family. During an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, Andrea opened up about a quarrel she had with her mother-in-law.

Andrea and Lamar are one couple that proves that opposites attract. The two rose to fame on Love After Lockup season 2, following Lamar’s release from prison. They became fan favorite as viewers got a deeper look into their many differences. Lamar, an LA native and reformed gangbanger, met Andrea from Utah, who is a devout Mormon, while he was serving an 18-year bid in prison. The two fell in love and embarked on a long-distance relationship. The love was so strong that the pair even conceived their 8-year-old daughter Priscilla during an unofficial conjugal visit. In addition to Andrea’s two older children from a previous relationship, the family left Utah to begin a new life in Los Angeles.

Since arriving in LA, Andrea has expressed her frustration and dissatisfaction with her family’s new living situation. While she desires to go back to Utah, Lamar and some of her children would rather stay in California. Now that she’s made the big move, how is she adjusting with Lamar’s family? While speaking with ScreenRant, Lamar opened up about how difficult it is for him to build a relationship between his two families. “It’s been a struggle,” Lamar told ScreenRant. “They’re a little skeptical.” However, Andrea chimed in with some shocking claims of her own. “Your family’s very judgmental,” she declared before taking her aim at the Life After Lockup star’s mother. “You talk bad about me and my kids, and you want us to hang out with you? That’s crazy,” Andrea said.

The WeTV couple then began debating over how embracing Lamar’s family has or hasn’t been, to Andrea and her kids. After Lamar claimed that it was just “one person” giving Andrea issues, she explained that, “it’s not just one person, and it’s not every household.” She then shared some pretty revealing Life After Lockup claims against Lamar’s mother that haven’t yet made it to the show. “It is very difficult dealing with your family. Your mom called my kids too dark,” Andrea claimed.

During Life After Lockup season 3, we saw Andrea confront Lamar’s cousin Dulow over the weed he offered her son Tennison. It appears that we might get to see deeper family issues surface next season.
