AT CES 2023, LG unveiled its massive 97-inch M3 OLED TV that eliminates the need for messy AV cables. The announcement comes a couple of days after the company unveiled its next-gen OLED TVs that it says will offer an unprecedented immersive viewing experience. The lineup includes the Z3, G3, and C3 OLED Evo series, with the G3 devices said to hit a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. They are expected to compete with Samsung’s latest range of Neo QLED, Micro LED, and OLED TVs that come with AI and enhanced picture processing.

LG’s 97-inch M3 OLED TV comes with the company’s ‘Zero Connect’ technology that can wirelessly transmit real-time audio and video signals at up to 4K 120Hz. The new technology is expected to make it easier for owners to connect their TVs to AV receivers, set-top boxes, soundbars, and game consoles with better cable management. As explained by LG, M3’s wireless connectivity is powered by a separate accessory that the company is calling the Zero Connect Box. It receives AV signals from the input source and sends them wirelessly to the TV, thereby enabling a cleaner setup. The box comes with multiple HDMI ports for devices like set-top boxes, game consoles, etc. It can also connect wirelessly to soundbars and other compatible AV systems.

LG claims that its Zero Connect wireless technology can detect objects that can block the wireless signal and switch paths to reduce interference. This allows for maximum signal strength, thereby offering high-quality picture and sound. The Zero Connect box’s antenna can also be easily rotated and tilted to align with the TV’s location to ensure the best possible connectivity. In addition, the box also comes with voice recognition, enabling users to control the TV and other connected devices using voice commands.

LG is also emphasizing the design of the M3, which it says has an understated look to blend in with the interior decor. The company is calling it the ‘One Wall Design’ that it says offers “a chic, art gallery aesthetic.” LG hasn’t announced the complete specs for the M3, nor has it revealed its pricing and availability details.

While the M3’s specs remain a mystery, details about the rest of LG’s 2023 OLED TV lineup are already official. They’re powered by the new Alpha 9 Gen 6 AI Processor, which the company says uses “AI-assisted Deep Learning tech” to offer improved audio and video quality. The TVs also come with AI-based algorithms for better audio and video clarity. LG also says that its latest TV lineup comes with enhanced dynamic tone mapping that provides true depth and highlights the detail in every frame.
