Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga – How to Unlock Palpatine

Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga – How to Unlock Palpatine

Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga provides players with over 400 playable characters, among which is the dark Emperor himself, Palpatine. Like most characters in the game, players will need to select the Galaxy Free Play mode to be able to choose and play with Palpatine. Characters in Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga are divided into classes, representing their place in the Star Wars universe and the unique abilities they bring to the table. Being a prominent Sith, Palpatine can be found in the Dark Side category, alongside other emblematic characters such as Darth Vader and Darth Maul.

Although players can change characters during Story mode, they will be restricted to those on screen, meaning characters that have a reason to be together during the saga. An example of this is the first time we see Tattoine in the trilogy, where Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jar Jar Binks are all playable. To enjoy the many more characters that Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga offers players, they will need to head into Galaxy Free Play, in which players can roam any planet they have unlocked during Story Mode.

As players progress through Story mode, they will eventually encounter obstacles that only certain characters can overcome. An example of this is the cracked walls found in various areas that can only be broken with the Breaker Blaster, a tool that is only usable by Scavenger class characters such as Young Rey. Due to this, it may be a good idea to play through Story mode before tackling Galaxy Free mode in order to unlock as many characters as possible to tackle the many obstacles it may put in their way.

How To Get All Versions Of Palpatine In Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga

Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga – How to Unlock Palpatine

Like most characters, unlocking Palpatine will require players to play through the story mode in Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga. However, it is important to note that there are actually five versions of this character, and each is unlocked by completing a different mission:

  • Palpatine Senator — Complete the “The Battle of the Jedi” mission in Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
  • Palpatine Chancellor Grey — Complete the “The High Ground” mission in Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
  • Palpatine Chancellor Red — Complete the “Out for the Count” mission in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
  • Palpatine Scarred — Complete the “Droid Attack on the Wookiees” mission in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
  • Emperor Palpatine — Complete the “Senate Showdown” mission in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Players will be able to start the game by playing the first episode of each trilogy. However, as Palpatine requires players to complete missions in Episodes II and III, players will need to first complete Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga‘s Episode I: The Phantom Menace to unlock them. Alternatively, players can get Emperor Palpatine by introducing the cheat code SIDIOUS in the Enter Code part of the menu.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
