LEGO Marvel’s Avengers Trailer: Earth’s Mightiest Get Musical

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers Trailer: Earth’s Mightiest Get Musical

The latest title for video game developer Traveller’s Tales and publisher Warner Bros. Entertainment will be none other than LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, serving as a continuation of the ever popular LEGO action-adventure, puzzle-platformer series that has been employing various preexisting independent properties in the making of some highly original games for the past ten-odd years now. Following the unveiling of the new game’s first trailer this past summer, and with certain key character models and gameplay elements already having seen released, players can expect a follow-up from Traveller’s Tales to rival their past Marvel Comics-inspired feature from 2013.

For some gamers, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes was a thrilling entry in the associated video game franchise from Traveller’s Tales, even if many of the elements from the Marvel Cinematic Universe films were entirely absent from the central story. But, as luck would have it, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers will focus primarily on recreating said elements in miniature, as can be gleaned from the latest trailer for the game (see above).

In the footage seen above from EW, viewers can clearly see that the folks at Traveller’s Tales are indeed gearing up for a new game that will rehash all of the best moments from The Avengers and its sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron, and all while improvising a certain catchy musical harmony out of the title’s action-centered super-heroics. Additionally, the latest title will include many characters and narrative arcs from other MCU Phase 1 and Phase 2 films, as well as featuring content from Marvel TV shows such as Agent Carter and mythology from the original Marvel Comics.

With any luck, this latest franchise-tie-in from Traveller’s Tales should prove to be imbued with just as much humor and fun action-based puzzle-solving as its immediate Marvel Comics-inspired predecessor. Furthermore, including elements from the Marvel Cinematic Universe should attract fans of the Marvel Studios film franchise to the property who have perhaps given the family-friendly video game series a pass up to now.

Following the final release of the new title this week, gamers will no doubt be more than willing to make an investment in order to explore the MCU in miniature, block form courtesy of the LEGO toy company and Traveller’s Tales. And if this game proves to be a significant success, perhaps future LEGO video game titles that feature content from Phase 3 and Phase 4 MCU films will become a reality as well.

LEGO Marvel’s Avengers arrives January 26th, 2016 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC.
