Legacies Season 4 Cast & Character Guide

Legacies Season 4 Cast & Character Guide

CW’s Legacies season 4 is about to premiere and the cast of characters hasn’t changed much from last season in regard to new faces but is being shaken up with certain characters getting greater focus. The Vampire Diaries spinoff premiered in 2018 and has had up and down ratings and reviews since. Still, it’s built a loyal and dedicated fanbase since its inception, an audience who tune in every week to see what adventures the students of the Salvatore School and Legacies cast will find.

Legacies season 3 was arguably the most roller coaster of a season yet, with the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting some of the filming and resulting in a season that was uneven due to the nature of the story being disrupted. Some of the characters grew in huge ways–unfortunately, none of the characters who experienced true growth in season 3 were Hope Mikaelson or Landon Kirby, who desperately need to evolve as individuals. But the finale of the season was impactful, promising to give Legacies season 4 a much-needed shakeup.

One way that the show will be reinvigorated is by further focus on some of the cast members that haven’t gotten as much time in the spotlight as others. This was already started in Legacies season 3, and it gave the show some badly-needed attention away from the unending saga of Landon and Hope. Hopefully, the fourth season will continue to shine that spotlight on the group as a whole. Here’s the cast for Legacies season 4.

Legacies Season 4 Returning Main Cast

Legacies Season 4 Cast & Character Guide

Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson – The protagonist of Legacies, Hope is the only known tribrid (werewolf, vampire, witch) in existence. Her great struggle throughout Legacies has been learning how to trust people, particularly Landon, and not neglecting or using others in order to meet her own ends. With Landon’s body currently possessed by Malivore and the real Landon possibly being dead, Hope has an opportunity to finally work on her issues. Russell is best-known for The Originals, where she originally played Hope, and The Last Tycoon.

Aria Shahghasemi as Landon Kirby – The other Legacies protagonist with Hope, Landon has an on-again/off-again relationship with her that has helped him to grow tremendously. Last season teased he’d finally evolved and become someone more capable and able to stand up for himself – unfortunately, that was retconned when it was revealed that it had really been Malivore piloting Landon the entire time. Surprisingly, Legacies is Shahghasemi’s first major role.

Matthew Davis as Alaric Saltzman – The forever stressed-out headmaster of the Salvatore School who knows an uncountable number of ways to kill monsters. Davis is well-known to the TVD audience, having been a series regular on The Vampire Diaries and later appearing on spinoff The Originals a few times. Other notable TV shows include Cult and Damages. He’s also appeared in a number of movies including Pearl Harbor, Legally Blonde, where he played Elle’s ex-fiancé, and Blue Crush.

Jenny Boyd as Lizzie Saltzman – One of Alaric’s twin daughters on Legacies, Lizzie is a powerful witch, but a fragile one. Perhaps it’s a result of her power, but Lizzie has had periods of emotional and mental instability. On the surface, she’s a shallow, typical mean girl, but Lizzie has shown a surprising amount of self-awareness in the last season and has grown a lot. Before Legacies, the movie Hex was Boyd’s only notable work.

Kaylee Bryant as Josie Saltzman – The other of the Saltzman twins, Josie is equally as powerful as Lizzie and maybe even more thanks to her having tapped into dark magic, which she tries to keep at bay. Josie is a people-pleaser and forever placing Lizzie’s needs before her own, but, like Lizzie, she’s started to evolve beyond being a doormat. Bryant has had a few recurring roles on other TV series including The Santa Clarita Diet, The Real O’Neals, and Kickin’ It.

Quincy Fouse as Milton “MG” Greasley – MG is a vampire but possesses the sunny nature of a true optimist who always sees the best in others. Milton’s sensitivity and nerdy interests have at times made him insecure, but he really came into his own in Legacies season 3, such as finally standing up for himself to his forever crush Lizzie. Fouse has had recurring roles on a few other TV series including The Goldbergs, All About the Washingtons, and Bosch.

Chris Lee as Kaleb Hawkins – Kaleb is another vampire and MG’s best friend who looks out for the other vampire like an older brother. Initially rebellious and resistant to Alaric’s strict rules, Kaleb has since matured tremendously and in Legacies season 3 even became Alaric’s right-hand man. Of his acting credits prior to Legacies, Lee’s best-known work was playing Hannibal on The Chi. Prior to his transition to TV, Lee played Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson in the Chicago production of Hamilton.

Omono Okojie as Cleo – Cleo is a gifted witch with the power of inspiration who was imprisoned by Legacies‘ Malivore golem monster centuries ago, and he seeks to regain her. In the off-season, it was confirmed that Okojie would be promoted to a series regular for Legacies season 4 with an expanded role. Before Legacies, Okojie’s best-known projects are the movies Gook, Trees of Peace, and Lift.

Legacies Season 4 Returning Supporting Cast

Ryan Clarke in a hospital bed in Legacies

Nick Fink as Ryan Clarke – Ryan is Malivore’s other son who has been a recurring antagonist throughout the show. However, his actions have always been driven by his desperation to escape his father, Malivore, for good. The Legacies season 3 finale revealed that Ryan is now human and also claims he wants to atone for what he’s done in the past. Fink has one of the more extensive resumes of the Legacies cast having also had supporting roles in TV series Sweet/Vicious, The Fosters, T@gged, and Dead of Night, and appearing in films like Judas and the Black Messiah and Ghost Squad.

Ben Levin as Jed – Jed is a werewolf and the alpha of the Salvatore School’s pack. Jed has been largely portrayed as a dimwitted jock and a bit of a bully in the first two seasons, but Legacies season 3 gave more time to his character and his vulnerable, insecure side started to be explored. Outside of a long-running role on soap opera As the World Turns, Legacies is so far Levin’s only other notable role.

Peyton Alex Smith as Rafael Waithe – Landon’s foster brother and a relatively new werewolf who has died and been resurrected. He joined Landon at the Salvatore School but went his own way. The show didn’t seem to know what to do with him and wrote him out of the story for a while, but Rafael returned in Legacies season 3 and looks set to have a bigger part on the show again. Before Legacies, TV show The Quad was Smith’s biggest role.

Leo Howard as Ethan – Ethan is one of the few humans in the series and a student at Mystic Falls High. He’s been treated rather unfairly by the students of Salvatore School, who have twice wiped his memory after he learned the truth that there was a supernatural world, but season 3 appears set to change that. Howard’s other significant TV roles have included Shake it Up, Kickin’ It, Freakish, Santa Clarita Diet, and Why Women Kill. He also played young Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and young Conan in Conan the Barbarian.

Courtney Bandeko as Finch – Finch was also a student at Mystic Falls High who was hiding a dark secret: she’s a werewolf. Finch never knew that other werewolves and supernatural creatures existed until she met and started a relationship with Josie. Now attending the Salvatore School, Finch will have to figure out who she is. Bandeko has also had a supporting role on Dead of Night, and movie roles include Adolescence and Southbound.

Demetrius Bridges as Dorian Williams – Dorian was the long-serving librarian and historian of the Salvatore School but left after he grew tired of his life always being in danger. After an absence, he appeared more regularly in Legacies season 3 as he got sucked back into the world of the supernatural in order to help Alaric. Bridges first appeared as Dorian on The Vampire Diaries. Previous notable TV roles include Mann and Wife and Containment.
