Leaked Forza Motorsport Screenshots Could Confirm Xbox One Release

Thanks to new leaked images it appears as though Turn 10 Studios’ title Forza Motorsport might be coming to the Xbox One as well as Xbox Series X/S and PC. Forza has been a popular title amongst racing fans for many years, but Forza Motorsport hasn’t had a release since 2017 despite its usual biennial release frame.

The game made its debut in 2005 and was a direct competitor to the Gran Turismo series. It was released solely on the Xbox consoles. The game’s main focus is to provide lifelike racing mechanics, with the aim of helping players understand how the vehicles handle and how best to upgrade cars. In 2012, Turn 10 teamed up with Playground Games and Forza Horizon was born. This new game offered a more open-world freestyle feel and attracted different fans to the title. Since then, Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon have traded off releasing games every other year, until 2017 when Forza Motorsport 7 came out and no new Motorsport title followed. In 2020, Turn 10 Studios announced it was in early production for the new Forza Motorsport title, and mentioned that it would not be called Forza Motorsport 8.

As reported by Dual Shockers, a user on Reddit by the name of Zorpalweapon, who has since deleted their account, said that the newest Motorsport title was going to be available for the Xbox One instead of just being available for the Xbox Series X/S, as was previously believed. The moderator of the subreddit confirmed that the source was legitimate and the screenshots that Zorpalweapon posted were in fact from the Xbox One version of the game. Another Reddit user commented that the official listing for the game only had it as being available for Xbox Series X/S and PC, but also mentioned that the team might not have the Xbox One listed at the moment.

The images posted by the Reddit user might have come from the playtests of the game. Playtesting of Forza Motorsport began in 2021 and players seemingly had the option to playtest on the Xbox One. The playtesting was only available for Xbox Series X, but other select players might have been able to play on the Xbox One. There were many comments doubting the legitimacy of the images, despite the moderator’s confirmation, and one user even pointed out that everyone who playtested was under a strict embargo, so these images should never have been leaked.

Regardless of whether or not this leak is true, players are still excited about the return of the Motorsport series. Fans have been anticipating the news for quite some time and are hoping to hear more about what to expect from the new installment of Forza Motorsport soon. Hopefully, there will be another announcement in the coming months so fans can get back to enjoying the racing simulator sooner rather than later.
