Last Of Us Part 1 Player Beautifully Recreates HBO Trailer In Game

A player has recreated HBO’s The Last of Us trailer in The Last of Us Part 1. Last of Us Part 1, a TLOU 2-style remake of Naughty Dog’s 2013 title, was released last month with new display modes, difficulty customization, an improved photo mode, new game modes such as “Permadeath“, accessibility options more in line with those seen in 2020’s The Last of Us Part 2, and more.

HBO’s The Last of Us is a 10-episode series starring Game of Thrones alumni Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie, and is developed by Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin and game creator Neil Druckmann. As part of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Day celebrations on September 26 – the day the outbreak took place within the game’s story – HBO released a trailer for its long-awaited adaptation of the first game which was praised by fans for its instantly recognizable recreations of iconic moments from the game. These included The Last of Us‘ heartbreaking opening, to moments of Ellie and Riley from TLOU: Left Behind DLC’s story.

As reported by GAMINGbible, YouTuber 50calbullet has used The Last of Us Part 1 to recreate the HBO trailer shot for shot entirely in-game. 50calbullet’s recreation further showcases the attention to detail in HBO’s adaptation, especially when comparing the trailers side-by-side, while also demonstrating some of The Last of Us Part 1 visual enhancements, particularly with ray-traced lighting and upgraded character models found in Naughty Dog’s remake.

Fans Are Still Unsure On Whether The Last Of Us Part 1’s Pricing Is Fair

Remasters and remakes are common in the gaming industry today, and Naughty Dog made the decision to bring its beloved 2013 PS3 classic to the current-gen with a remake that allowed the developers to implement many of the improvements and new features seen in the controversial Last of Us Part 2. Despite the aforementioned new features, enhancements, and a positive critical response, the remake’s price point remains a controversial topic within the fanbase as many argued that with PS4’s The Last of Us: Remastered already being backward compatible on PS5 devices, those who just wanted to revisit the story claimed that they had little reason to spend another $70 on the title – especially as the title’s core gameplay hadn’t been changed much to include some of the improvements seen in The Last of Us Part 2‘s combat. Despite this, fans are still eager to play the long-awaited The Last of Us Factions Multiplayer game, which will see players lead a camp of survivors and struggle to provide for them. The Factions multiplayer mode was missing in TLOU Part 2, and was not released alongside The Last of Us Part 1 due to being turned into a standalone title.

While many fans of The Last of Us seem unsure about whether they want to purchase the acclaimed apocalyptic game for the third time in three console generations, most seem to be in agreement that they have plenty to look forward to with HBO’s upcoming adaptation. If it wasn’t evident enough to fans of the game from HBO’s first trailer, 50calbullet’s in-game recreation only further demonstrates how faithful the upcoming series should be to the game’s story. This attention to detail should please fans, while also allowing non-gamers the chance to experience the title’s gut-wrenching storytelling for the first time when HBO’s series releases in 2023.
