Kylie Jenner & Stassie Karanikolaou Recreate Britney Spears/Madonna VMA Kiss for Halloween

Kylie Jenner, from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, showed off her wild side post-breakup by re-creating the infamous Britney Spears/Madonna VMA kiss with gal pal Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou for Halloween. The two attended a J Balvin concert in Los Angeles on Saturday night in full costume and Jenner posted a video on her Instagram Story of the two ladies dancing to Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” before sneaking a kiss – a tribute to Britney and Madonna’s iconic 2003 MTV Video Music Awards performance.

Jenner, 22, has been enjoying her new single status since her breakup from rap artist Travis Scott earlier in October, and the Kardashian clan takes Halloween seriously. Each year the sisters don multiple, fully committed, and usually skin-bearing looks with different members of their crew. Last year, Jenner shared five separate costumes: matching butterflies with her daughter Stormi, multiple versions of a blonde Barbie doll, Victoria’s Secret Angels with her sisters, an actual storm, again with her daughter, and the Fantanas with several of her friends. And while five may seem like a lot, many of the costumes, such as the Victoria’s Secret Angels, are merely for the photo shoot.

Not this time, however. Us Weekly shared the video of Jenner and Karanikolaou out on the town as Britney and Madonna – Jenner in a blonde wig pulled back into Madonna’s low bun and wearing all black, Karanikolaou in all white with matching gloves. Just in case fans weren’t sure who they were meant to be, the pair took a video of them sharing a kiss after a seemingly improvised dance routine, really getting into character as Britney and Madonna circa the 2003 VMAs. Karanikolaou and Jenner have been flaunting their friendship all over social media since early this summer. Coincidentally, Karanikolaou seemed to have joined the scene almost right after ex-BFF Jordyn Woods was all but exiled from California after she hooked up with Khloe Kardashian’s then-boyfriend Tristan Thompson, but Karanikolaou and Jenner have known each other a long time. According to Karanikolaou’s Instagram, the two have been friends over 9 years, and share matching tattoos honoring Jenner’s daughter. Karanikolaou is a YouTube personality and social media influencer, and now, sharing a Halloween costume with the youngest self-made billionaire, has reached a new ascent as Jenner’s Instagram BFF.

Britney/Madonna is sure not to be Jenner’s only Halloween costume this year. Jenner has already posted a photo to her Instagram of her 1 year old daughter dressed as Jenner herself at this year’s Met Gala, sporting the purple feathered dress and purple-hued wig. Kim Kardashian replied to a fan on Twitter stating she was considering 4 looks for herself this Halloween and had been up until 1:30am taking costume photos.

Halloween is a tricky sport for celebrities these days. Back in 2015, Jenner was criticized for an all-white “snow princess” costume that she initially captioned “eskimo”. Accordingly to ET Canada, Jenner didn’t realize “Eskimo” was a racial slur for First Nations People who lived further north. Jenner is in good company with celebrities who’ve accidentally worn offensive Halloween costumes, including her Keeping Up With the Kardashians co-star Scott Disick, who was criticized for dressing as an Arab Sheik for Halloween in 2014.
