Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kendall Jenner revealed she wasn’t “shocked” when her sister Kylie informed her about her pregnancy. Kylie announced the news publicly through a touching video on Instagram, which showed various pieces of footage concerning her family’s reactions. In one clip, her daughter, Stormi, brought a sonogram to grandmother Kris Jenner, who lit up with joy. In another segment, Kylie and her partner, Travis Scott, were in the doctor’s office overcome with excitement. Later, Stormi kissed her mother’s baby bump. When Kylie posted the video, her family immediately showed their approval by responding with congratulations.
Unlike the first pregnancy, Kylie is sharing her journey with the public without feeling the need to hide much of anything (except the baby’s gender, which is locked away in a vault of Kardashian-Jenner secrets). In the past, both Kendall and Kylie expressed frustration at being exposed to this much publicity in their young lives. It seems now, however, that the sisters are leaning into their own stardom with grace and vulnerability.
Kendall was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when she revealed what it was like to learn about her sister’s pregnancy. When Kendall answered a phone call, Kylie simply showed her the photo of the sonogram. Although Kendall replied enthusiastically, she wasn’t actually “shocked.” The supermodel explained to Jimmy that she had suspicions that Kylie and Travis would have another baby together, though she didn’t elaborate on her reasons why.
Kendall clarified to Jimmy, however, that she was also “excited” for her sister and that the news was a blessing. Though Kendall has no children of her own, she is an aunt to 18 nieces and nephews, with two more on the way. Kylie and Kendall’s brother Burt is also expecting another child with his wife, Valerie. When the late night host asked Kendall if she was a good babysitter, the supermodel simply explained she wants to be the “cool aunt.” But as she reflected on all the new additions to the family, Kendall seemed a bit overwhelmed, expressing, “I try to be chill. I stress out about enough already.”
When Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired season 1, the family landscape was dramatically different. Kylie and Kendall were just 10 and 12 years old, respectively, running around the house and playing together like normal children.
