A Star Wars cosplay honors the non-canonical video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic by bringing the legendary Jedi Master Bastila Shan to life. Knights of the Old Republic has long been a fan-favorite game in the larger Star Wars universe, with characters such as Bastila Shan and Darth Revan. Despite its popularity, many of the stories and characters aren’t Star Wars canon, much to some audiences’ chagrin. However, one brilliant cosplayer has shown what canonizing these stories in Star Wars movies and TV shows could look like.
The cosplay, posted by madsfive on Instagram, depicts Jedi Master Bastila Shan wielding a double-bladed lightsaber. Interestingly, the lightsaber is very reminiscent of Darth Maul’s, hinting toward the romantic undertones of Shan’s and Darth Revan’s relationship in the video game.
Although Bastila Shan hasn’t entered the canon, Darth Revan’s story has become Star Wars canon, suggesting that Bastila Shan’s canonization isn’t out of the question.

Star Wars Has Already Started Canonizing Parts Of Knights Of The Old Republic
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – The Visual Dictionary by Pablo Hidalgo introduced Darth Revan to Star Wars canon by referencing a Revan legion. While Darth Revan, therefore, hasn’t hit the big (or small) screen yet, the door is wide open for this Knights of the Old Republic villain to pop up somewhere in the upcoming Star Wars movies or Star Wars’ upcoming TV shows. Particularly as shows like Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka have shown their willingness to bring in Legends characters such as Thrawn, this is a very real possibility.

This could spell out good news for the other Knights of the Old Republic stories and characters, including Bastila Shan, who was quite popular. Star Wars Legends has continued to change the canon, in part because of its popularity. Given this, it’s not difficult to imagine that Bastila Shan could join an upcoming Star Wars project.
Shan also represents exactly the type of Star Wars story the franchise is interested in right now. She, like Darth Revan, shifted between the light and the dark side, which recent Star Wars projects have also seen from characters like Ben Solo and Asajj Ventress. As this cosplayer has shown, too, Bastila Shan would be a very cool inclusion in Star Wars canon.
