Warning! Potential spoilers for Deadpool #10 (King in Black tie-in) below!
Deadpool is ready to fight back against the King in Black and he’s bringing his own army to take on the God of Symbiotes and its powerful forces. In new previews for the upcoming Deadpool #10, the Merc with a Mouth is using his title of King of the Monsters to fight Knull and he’ll be assembling his own group of powerful monsters in the fight to save Earth.
The King in Black event is well underway at Marvel Comics, with Knull using his own symbiote army (including massive dragons) to help take over Earth and the rest of the galaxy. While some of Marvel’s best heroes have struggled against the King in Black’s army, more recently, the non-infected heroes had a mini breakthrough against him as hope has arrived. Now, it’s Deadpool’s turn to try to take a chunk out of Knull’s forces.
In an exclusive preview to SuperHeroHype.com for Deadpool #10 by Kelly Thompson, Gerardo Sandoval, Victor Nava, Chris Sotomayor, and Joe Sabino, Wade Wilson decides to take on the Venom-related “nonsense,” head-on, as he complains that he just got over his own fight against black goo in the form of the Bone Beast Queen. With Elsa Bloodstone and Jeff the Land Shark by his side, the King of Monsters reveals his plan to take on the King in Black: Unleash his own group of monsters.
Deadpool reminds his monster squad that they’re an island “full of freaking monsters!” and that all they have to do is pick the most dangerous of the group to fight Knull. When Wilson is reminded that his current squad is already the best of the best from Monster Island, he cheekily breaks the fourth wall and tells them they can do better since it’s “a tie in-event. Man, it’s go big or go home time!”
As the King of the Monsters, Deadpool has his own strong army to face Knull and his symbiote army. However, it remains to be seen how effective Wade, Elsa, and the monsters will be against the King in Black – as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have already been overwhelmed by the dark God. Perhaps, fighting symbiote monsters with other monsters is exactly what’s needed. Or, it could blow up in Deadpool’s face and affectively end his reign as king. We’ll see how the King of Monsters takes on the King in Black as Deadpool #10 hits stores this Wednesday, January 27.
