King Arthur & the Knights of Justice was originally aired from 1992 to 1993, spanning two seasons. The original animated series was created by Diane Eskenazi, and the original two seasons of the show are available to stream on Peacock for any comic readers hoping to catch up on the series ahead of its graphic novel reboot. This is also the ideal opportunity for fans of the original series to revisit it before seeing the latest reimagining of the legend of King Arthur. This new take on the series comes from Mad Cave Studios and 41 Entertainment. Joe Corallo, the writer of the upcoming series, says:

King Arthur & the Knights of Justice was a show I watched as a kid and had revisited a number of times since, so it was an absolute thrill to not only hear that they were looking to reboot the series, but I’d be getting to write it as well. Plus, it was a great excuse to rewatch it again!

Contrarily, artist Gaia Cardinali says:

As a kid I didn’t get the chance to enjoy King Arthur and the Knights of Justice, I watched the whole series this year. It was a blast! I must thank Mad Cave for letting me be part of this fantastic and absurd world: how else could I have found myself drawing a horse armed with a missile-launcher?

The Vice President of Business Development for Mad Cave Studios, Mark Irwin, adds:

We couldn’t be happier working with 41 Entertainment to bring the adventures of King Arthur and Princess Gwenevere to our readers. We’ll have exciting new talent aboard to update and grow these fantastic characters, and look forward to their incredible stories coming to life in a new medium.

King Arthur & the Knights of Justice Is Looking to Update and Grow the Franchise

King Arthur & The Knights of Justice isn’t a stranger to comics, as the series was previously adapted into a three-issue series from Marvel in 1993. However, this will be its first return to the medium since then. This series blends Arthurian legend with a Flash Gordon-style hero, as quarterback Arthur King and his fellow football players will re-engage in their battle against Morgana. Fans can revisit King Arthur & The Knights of Justice when its new graphic novel reboot releases March 12, 2024.
