Kim Kardashian, of The Kardashians, has been recognized with a great honor recently, after receiving the Giving Tree Award at the Baby2Baby Charity Gala. Baby2Baby is an American nonprofit organization that provides clothing, diapers, and other necessities to children living in poverty in the greater Los Angeles area and in other areas of the country following natural disasters. The reality star turned businesswoman, who has been working with the organization since 2013, has donated over $5 million in clothing and hygiene products on top of half a million dollars in monetary donations.
Parade reported that the Baby2Baby organization selected Kim Kardashian as the Giving Tree Award recipient “for her longtime dedication to Baby2Baby and commitment to supporting the children they serve.” In her acceptance speech, Kim urged those in attendance to remember that everybody has the ability to make a difference. Kim was adamant about her passion for charity work, pledging to continue using her voice and extensive resources to continue furthering the work of the Baby2Baby organization and doing “what is fair, what is right and what leads our world to be better—especially for our children.“

With 333 million followers on Instagram and almost 74 million followers on Twitter, The Kardashians star certainly has the means to reach wide audiences with information about charitable organizations and efforts. The star has never been afraid to stand up for what she believes is right on social media. A great example of this was when she spoke out against ex-husband Kanye West last month in response to his antisemitic behavior. While not everyone has Kim’s capacity to go viral, she went on to encourage her audience to stand up for justice.
