From Keeping up with the Kardashians fame, Kim Kardashian, and her husband, Kanye West, may no longer be attending marriage counseling sessions, according to an anonymous source. The couple has been rumored to be living apart, with Kim residing in California and Kanye living in Wyoming. Kanye was noticeably missing from holiday celebration photos posted by the Kardashian-Jenners.
Kim and Kanye began their famous romance back in 2011. Their relationship did not come as a surprise as the pair have been friends since the early 2000s. They both found themselves single again and thought they would give a relationship a try. After two years of dating, the couple welcomed their first daughter together, North. Since then, Kim and Kanye have welcomed three other children: Saint, Chicago and Psalm. They seemed like the perfect couple for so long, but the past year has been hard on their marriage.
According to a source at PEOPLE, Kim and Kanye have “completely” stopped going to marriage counseling. Earlier this month they were rumored to be in marital therapy to try and salvage their broken marriage, but the source now says it wasn’t enough to keep them going. “He is talking to divorce lawyers this week,” the source said of the 43-year-old rapper. The news does not come as a shock to many as it has already been rumored that the 40-year-old businesswoman was already planning on filing for divorce from the rapper and has met with high-profile divorce attorney Laura Wasser. “They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family,” a source told the publication. “And Kim is okay with it.” The couple, who share four children together between the ages of seven and two, no longer see their future going in the same direction. Kim is focusing on getting a law degree, while also helping to fight for criminal justice reform. Kanye seemed to care more about running for president than being with his family.
Kim knows where her life heading and wants to continue building her career as a lawyer, while also creating the best life she can for her four children. She may feel like Kanye is not willing to help himself for the sake of their family. After more than seven years of marriage, Kim might not feel her future aligns with the rappers, especially after his 2020 presidential run and controversial Twitter rants over the summer. “Kim has become more independent and has lost patience with his antics, rants, the presidential campaign and tweets,” an insider revealed to the publication. “The love story between Kim and Kanye has been over for a long time. They adored each other but have too many differences.” Sounds like marriage counseling is not something that is going to resolve Kim and Kanye’s issues.
Now that the couple is no longer in counseling, does this mean the end of their marriage is finally coming to an end? For the sake of Kim and her children’s wellbeing, we sure hope so.
