Killing Eve: 5 Most Likeable Characters (& 5 Fans Can’t Stand)

BBC’s Killing Eve came out with the show’s third season quite recently and while it didn’t live up to the viewers’ expectations, there was development in the story and characters. Killing Eve didn’t have the charm, it has come to be known for, in the latest outing but as always, the characters, Villanelle, in particular, provided the tale with a bit of class, like she always does.

In the BBC Orginal’s three seasons so far, there have been a lot of characters, most of whom the viewers absolutely adore, even though they are psychopaths. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the five most likeable characters from the series and five fans can’t stand.

Killing Eve: 5 Most Likeable Characters (& 5 Fans Can’t Stand)

While Bill is only in the series for a short while, he impresses one and all with his ability to find humor in everything. His chemistry with Eve was something magnificent to see and their back and forth was one of the best things about season 1.

He was also a very good agent. One would say, he was too good as, in the end, that was what got him killed. For which, by the way, the viewers will never forgive Villanelle.

Can’t Stand: Carolyn

Carolyn is too devoted to her job. She is a mother, who doesn’t look after her son, Kenny, the way she is supposed to. Always, it’s the job of an MI6 agent that gets the better of her. And while she is a really good professional, when it comes to matters close to the heart, she always fails.

She could play with anyone’s emotions to get what she wants and sometimes, she just goes way too far. Like she did with Eve and Villanelle.

Like: Konstantin

Konstantin in Killing Eve

One of the members of The Twelve, Konstantin is loved, mostly, because of the way he laughs. It’s weird but the viewers who watch the show might know where this is going.

Coming from Russia, Konstantin is one of those characters who simply has his own intentions at heart and sometimes, his family’s but only sometimes. He doesn’t care about anyone but him and he is capable of doing, pretty much, anything to get what he wants. Still, though, he is someone Killing Eve cannot be imagined without.

Can’t Stand: Aaron Peel

The psychopath who trumps Villanelle when it comes to doing psychopathic things, Aaron Peel, is as worse as they come. He is the CEO of a giant tech company, but the way he behaves with Villanelle is actually very weird.

He keeps an eye on her while they are in Rome, looking at her from the cameras he placed inside her room. It seems, Aaron is someone who wants to control everything and everyone but if he can’t, he kills them.

Like: Kenny

Carolyn’s son and one of the smartest characters in the series, Kenny works for MI6 and is a really good friend of Eve. He is obsessed with finding out the truth about the Twelve and that obsession, in the end, cost him his life.

While his mother didn’t do anything to look after him, Kenny never complained, instead, he just got on with his life. He was mature enough to handle himself well, but when it came to chasing the criminals part, he still had a lot to learn.

Can’t Stand: Dasha

Dasha leans against a pillar in Killing Eve.

Villanelle’s mentor, Dasha, is irritating, to say the least. She is too forthcoming and whenever she’s talking with Villanelle, it’s as if she is trying to manipulate her into doing what she wants.

But it’s not an easy job to have Villanelle do what you want. And Dasha learned the harsh truth in an unforeseen manner. Nevertheless, Dasha wanted to go back to Russia but for that, she had to deliver Villanelle and in the third season, that’s all she tried.

Like: Eve

How can anyone not like Eve Polastri, the one around whom the series revolves? Eve is funny, charming, intelligent, and she has a darkness inside of her, which comes to the fore while chasing Villanelle.

Although she likes to have a life away from the job, her fixation with Villanelle means she gives every bit of her time to being an MI6 agent. Eve doesn’t know what she wants. She is forever in an existential crisis, thinking about being or not being with Villanelle.

Can’t Stand: Raymond

Konstantin was Villanelle’s handler for The Twelve but when the assassin left him, a man named Raymond became her new handler. He didn’t want to play games with Villanelle as he made himself very clear – that he doesn’t want any mishaps and wouldn’t tolerate unprofessionalism.

He didn’t give Villanelle the personal space she required and he wasn’t as forgiving as Konstantin. Moreover, he came real close to killing Villanelle, so how can anyone like him?

Villanelle smiles while holding a gun in Killing Eve

The most popular and loved psychopathic assassin character in the world, Villanelle, oozes class and charisma with everything she does. While she has done some bad things in her life, the viewers can’t help but root for her, quite similar to the way the fans used to do for Dexter Morgan.

She is a serial killer and one of the best at her job but she develops a vulnerability – Eve. And everything she does after that, it’s either to send her a message or try to be closer to her.

Can’t Stand: Niko

Eve’s husband, Niko just doesn’t understand what he wants, which leaves him scrounging in the middle of Eve and Villanelle’s psychopathic love story.

He is neither in love with Eve nor ready to give it all up and start a new life. And when he does get ready to leave Eve forever, fate doesn’t take a liking to him. Still, the reason why he isn’t likeable is that he is right in the middle of the story and yet, his character doesn’t fascinate the viewers the way it should have.
