‘Kick-Ass’ Red Band International Trailer

‘Kick-Ass’ Red Band International Trailer

We’ve already had a red band Kick-Ass trailer which focused specifically on the foul-mouthed Hit-Girl, but today a new red band trailer has appeared online and we have it here for your viewing pleasure.

Based on the acclaimed Mark Millar comic, Kick-Ass is about a teenager who one day decides to dress up in a costume, give himself a name (the titular Kick-Ass) and proceeds to try and beat the crap out of the bad guys in his town (often to no avail). His actions inspire others and before you can say “It’s a bird! It’s a plane!” people are dressing up as superheroes, including Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz), Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage). The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn (Stardust, Layer Cake) and is co-written by Vaughn and Jane Goldman (the pair  penned Stardust together).

For those who loved the explicitness of the Hit-Girl focused red band trailer and are sitting ready and waiting to hit play on this latest trailer with their gore and swear bucket at the ready: you may walk away with it a little empty.

Not that there’s none of that fun stuff in this latest international trailer – just not as much. Don’t fret though, there’s still violence, blood being spilled and Chloe Moretz throwing in a swear word or two (just wait for the very last word of the trailer!). Here’s the new trailer below, thanks to MSN:

As a bonus, we also have a new UK quad poster for the film, which surfaced over at Empire (click for larger version):

This movie is looking more awesome by the day. It’s featured at No. 2 on our most anticipated of 2010 list (just behind Iron Man 2) and on my personal list it would sit at the same spot (just behind Inception). I can’t wait to see the movie and on a more general level, I’m curious to see how it does at the box office because of the R-rating – something which obviously prohibits audiences of a certain young age from seeing it. But will audiences of age flock to see a superhero movie that’s more “Watchmen with a funny bone” than another Dark Knight? Not long to go now before we find out.

Thoughts on the latest red band trailer for Kick-Ass? Where does it rank on your most anticipated list for 2010?

Kick-Ass hits U.S. theaters on April 16th, 2010. It hits UK theaters two weeks earlier on April 2nd.
