A new report suggests Yellowstone star Kevin Costner wants to come back for season 5 part 2, despite filming starting soon and scripts for the final season already being written. Prior reports suggested Costner’s John Dutton would not be showing up in the show’s final episodes due to prior disputes with showrunner Taylor Sheridan. This means the family patriarch is likely to be written out without the actor showing up for the grand finale.
Now, Puck reports that Costner now wants to come back for Yellowstone season 5 part 2, returning as John for at least a cameo in the final season. However, filming is set to start in a few weeks while scripts for the last batch of episodes have already been finalized. The report indicates it’s unclear if Sheridan would be willing to alter his scripts to give the actor one last appearance om the show.
