Katee Sackhoff’s Amunet Will Return to The Flash

Katee Sackhoff’s Amunet Will Return to The Flash

[SPOILERS for those not caught up on The Flash ahead.]

The Flash season 4 isn’t done with Katee Sackhoff’s Amunet just yet. The show has treated its viewers to a wealth of new characters this season already, with even more metahumans (like Brainstorm and Fallout) to come. Episode 5 of the season, “Girls Night Out”, also introduced a new enemy for Team Flash to deal with, in the form of Sackhoff’s Amunet Black.

Played by Battlestar Galactica alum Sackhoff, Amunet is set to return as a recurring character throughout the season. Now, Sackhoff has revealed exactly when viewers can expect to see this metahuman trafficker come back to the show.

Speaking with Cinema Blend, Sackhoff explained the way in which The Flash will use her character in the future:

“She sort of just walks off into the sunset, like she’ll be back. I feel like Amunet’s kind of like a virus. Like she’s just going to linger forever.”

Sackhoff also detailed a rough guide to when Amunet is going to return in The Flash season 4:

“I’m back in [Episode] 9, I’m back in 12 and 13, and potentially 14. I’m basically sort of, I get phone calls like, ‘Does [Katee] want to come back for a few days?’ And if I’m available, it’s sort of like ‘Sure!’ And that’s sort of just how the character’s gonna keep evolving.”

So, fans of The Flash have a few episodes to wait after “Girls Night Out” before Amunet turns up again. However, given her status as an underworld boss with a penchant for contraband, it’s likely that she is up to no good behind the scenes in the meantime.

This sporadic role in the show certainly seems to suit Sackhoff, who explained that she did not want to take on a regular role at this point in time:

“After Longmire, the last thing I wanted to do was sign myself up for another regular on a TV show right away. So I was sort of looking for something like this and when it came up, it provides me that sort of creative outlet and then also very little sort of long term commitment, which is what I was looking for.”

Although Sackhoff’s reveal as Amunet got off to something of a rocky start, with Sackhoff tipping off The Flash fans on social media before an official announcement was made, her role as Amunet will hopefully be remembered as a treat for viewers. With at least a few more episodes set to include Amunet this season, it remains to be seen what trouble the character can cause for Team Flash next.
