Justice League Visits Atlantis in LEGO Aquaman Movie Clip

Justice League Visits Atlantis in LEGO Aquaman Movie Clip

The Justice League is finally heading to Atlantis, thanks to the latest DC animated film, LEGO DC Super Heroes: Aquaman – Rage of Atlantis. And we’ve got an exclusive clip to see just how unprepared for the underwater kingdom they really are (in the LEGO version of the DCU, at least).

It may be Jason Momoa’s version of Aquaman that has taken the DCEU spotlight, but Comic-Con also saw the debut of Rage of Atlantis, taking the LEGO style of humor, animation, and action into the Seven Seas. And while the version of Arthur Curry on display in the clip may be more lighthearted, the villain he’s going up against is as dangerous as they come.

Thankfully, he has his friends on the Justice League to back him up… assuming they don’t get distracted by the marine life.

San Diego Comic-Con 2018 wasn’t just the first public screening of Rage of Atlantis, the eighth film in the LEGO DC Super Heroes series, but also the first time that LEGO Aquaman and Jason Momoa actually teamed up. Fans will need to get their fill with only the classic, mop-topped Aquaman in Rage of Atlantis, but if they’ve enjoyed the previous releases that shouldn’t be a problem.

The best-known stories involving Aquaman – his DCEU movie included – tend to center on his brother, Orm, as antagonist. Not so in Rage of Atlantis. Ocean Master makes an appearance, but as the title suggests, the enemy this time around will be a villain who commands anger and hatred. None other than Atrocitus, leader of the Red Lanterns – who spreads anger and rage throughout the inhabitants of Atlantis.

How Aquaman is going to confront an enemy army comprised of his own subjects is the real mystery. But with heroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg (assuming her ever stops fanboying over his visit to the underwater kingdom), and newcomer Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, Arthur may be able to tip the scales in his favor. Plus Mera is always there when you really need her, should things go from bad to worse.

Take a look at the official synopsis of Rage of Atlantis below:

Aquaman, the King of Atlantis, must make some difficult decisions to ensure the future of his ocean realm. Under attack from Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns, he realizes he must relinquish his sovereignty and go on a journey to regain his confidence before returning to his rightful throne. Along the way, Aquaman reunites with the Justice League – including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and newest member Jessica Cruz/Green Lantern – to conquer Atlantis’ latest enemy and reemerge as the ruler of the Seven Seas.
