Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths Sequels Will Feature Other DC Animated Universes

Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths Sequels Will Feature Other DC Animated Universes

WARNING: This article includes SPOILERS from Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One.

Following the ending of Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One, the DC sequels will feature other DC animated universes. As James Gunn’s DC Universe is on its way, two other DC franchises are ending this year, following the conclusion of the DCEU in 2023. While the Arrowverse finishes its run with Superman & Lois, the animated Tomorrowverse is also wrapping up through the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy.

However, it appears that Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two will make some homages to past DC animated movies and TV shows. In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One executive producer Butch Lukic was asked if the sequels may pay a visit to other animated DC Universes. While he didn’t reveal specific characters, Lukic confirmed that some familiar faces would be showing up, revealing the following:

Butch Lukic: [In] part two, there is one or two characters that may be coming in from that universe, yes.

What DC Animated Characters Could Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths – Part Two Feature?

Given how rich the DC animated legacy history is, there are a lot of movies and TV shows that Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two could feature from past universes. One of the properties that would garner a lot of attention for the sequels is if they feature characters from Bruce Timm’s universe. Both of the Justice League shows were crucial for DC in animation as both of the series garnered a huge cult following.

While it is unclear about the state of Young Justice season 5, including the beloved Max series would be a neat inclusion, especially as fans are wondering if the show is over or not. For a bigger callback, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earth – Part Two could somehow include the Super Friends cartoon, as it would be fun to see a whole new audience being introduced to them today. To take something that is still ongoing, Teen Titans Go! would be an interesting one to include in the next films.

The one universe people are likely expecting the most to see from past DC franchises is the one that came right before the Tomorrowverse, as Justice League Dark: Apokolips War directly set up the ongoing franchise. While a Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two teaser trailer was recently released, it didn’t offer any clues about who the characters from the other universes might be. For now, time will tell as the world will have to wait and see what happens.

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part One is out on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital Download.
