“Just Too Much”: Pastors React To Immaculate While Watching With Sydney Sweeney In New Video

Immaculate star Sydney Sweeney watches her new horror film with two real pastors, and their reactions are captured in a new video. Directed by Michael Mohan, Immaculate stars Sweeney as Cecilia, a nun who joins a seemingly perfect Italian convent only to discover the dark secrets that are being harbored within. The film hit theaters at the end of March and was met with a mostly positive reception from both audiences and critics.

In a recent TikTok shared by Neon, Sweeney is shown meeting up with two real female pastors in order to watch Immaculate inside a church. Watch the video below:

The video captures the pastors’ reactions to some of the film’s more violent and gory scenes, with one remarking, “That was just too much” after a particularly disturbing moment.

While 2021’s The Voyeurs, Sweeney’s previous collaboration with Mohan, was met with a generally negative response from critics, the reception to their latest collaboration has been far more positive. The Immaculate critics’ reviews do take issue with some of the film’s more familiar story beats, but Sweeney’s performance, in particular, has been singled out as a major highlight.

Immaculate‘s box office performance has also been commendable thus far. Made on a budget of $9 million, the horror flick has so far earned $13.1 million worldwide, with a fairly low second-weekend drop. As was seen with Anyone But You, Sweeney’s R-rated comedy in which she stars opposite Glen Powell, Immaculate could enjoy strong legs in the weeks ahead. The Immaculate ending scene is also quite shocking, which could help audience word-of-mouth.

Sydney Sweeney’s New Horror Movie Breaks Her 4-Year Rotten Tomatoes Record

Sydney Sweeney’s new horror film has opened up to mostly positive reviews & could set a career best for the celebrated actor in the horror genre.

The film also seems poised to perform well on digital and streaming when its time in theaters comes to an end. Part of this is due to Immaculate‘s positive reception, but Sweeney has also proven herself a rising star in recent years, and one who can increasingly attract audiences under the right circumstances. Immaculate has evidently proven to be a lot of fun as a horror experience, though the reactions from the pastors in the latest video suggest that not everybody will be able to tolerate the film’s more gruesome elements.
