Jurassic Park T-Rex Scene Looks Even Better Remade On PlayStation

A fan has created the T-Rex escape scene from Jurassic Park in Dreams. The moment in the 1993 film which revealed the famed dinosaur for the first time is iconic, and with its mix of life-sized animatronics and computer animation, many agree it still holds up to this day. When Media Molecule released the PlayStation-exclusive creative suite Dreams, the aim was clear: to allow players to create anything using only a PlayStation and a controller. The software was praised upon its release for having near-unlimited potential, and for being so quick and easy to pick up that Media Molecule suggested Dreams would be perfect for schools as a way to get the next generation into game development, animation, and more, and in the two years since its release, Dreams‘ community has already created a variety of impressive content.Related: Dreams: How to Access Player-Created Content (& The Best Ones)Krenautican, who is known for their work in Dreams, took to Twitter to share their latest work, a faithful recreation of the T-Rex’s escape scene from Jurassic Park. Fans have been so impressed by the highly detailed animation that many commented that they initially believed Krenautican had cut the clip from the original film and shared it on Twitter. Fortunately, Krenautican shared a YouTube video showing the work that went into recreating the scene using the PlayStation-exclusive software, breaking it down step-by-step. In the video, Krenautican revealed that they had previously attempted to create the scene with limited success, but after a year of working in Dreams, managed to achieve the results they wanted. At the end of this video, Krenautican revealed a fan-made first-person dinosaur game similar to Jurassic Park-inspired survival horror titles like Deathground or The Lost Wild. The new game is titled Jurassic Park: Operations, and Krenautican has been developing it for years with their friends. This has led to the creation of many of the assets seen in the T-Rex escape video.

Krenautican’s Jurassic Creations Have Been Praised By Dreams’ Artists

Krenautican’s previous Dreams creations based on the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies have been highly praised. Earlier this year, Krenautican faithfully recreated one of Jurassic World Dominion‘s new dinosaurs, the long-clawed Therizinosaurus prior to the film’s release, and the short animation caught the attention of one of Media Molecule’s artists, Martin Nebelong, who deemed it the best work he’d seen in Dreams to date.

Krenautican’s work has shown off the impressive power of Dreams, and has impressed many Jurassic Park fans. If the photo-realistic Dreams recreations of moments from the movies and the atmospheric gameplay clip are anything to go by, Jurassic Park: Operations is a title that fans of the series should keep an eye on.
