Juggernaut isn’t Even the Strongest Villain on His Horrifying New Team

Juggernaut isn’t Even the Strongest Villain on His Horrifying New Team

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Sinister War #3

In the latest issue of Marvel Comics’ Sinister War, the Juggernaut has entered the fray with a dark new team… but he’s not even its strongest member. In the Sinister War, Spider-Man has been facing multiple teams of foes such as the Sinister Six, Savage Six, Sinister Syndicate, the Superior Foes, and the Wild Pack. All of them have made deals with – or been manipulated by Kindred – the demonic version of Harry Osborn who wants to see Peter Parker punished for his sins. However, the Sinful Six has just been formed, featuring Juggernaut himself, though he pales in comparison to his teammate who literally lives for killing Marvel’s Spiders.

Thus far in Sinister War and its tie-in issues, Peter Parker hasn’t been able to catch a single breath as he’s been tossed from villain to villain across these multiple teams, all of whom would like nothing more than to see the Webslinger dead. Some of them are desperate to kill Spider-Man in order to gain Kindred’s favor, as he’s even promised to make their lives more miserable in Hell than normal should they fail. However, Sinister War #3 sees Kindred resurrecting the Sin-Eater, who returns the sins he took from several villains before his death, gathering them together to form the Sinful Six.

Now, Spider-Man is facing this dark new team that includes the Juggernaut, seeing as how Sin-Eater had cleansed and gained his powers in previous issues. Gray Gargoyle, Living Laser, Whirlwind are all part of the team for the same reason, but it’s the final member who’s the most powerful: Morlun. Belonging to a group of beings known as The Inheritors, Morlun is an energy vampire who feeds and thrives on the totemic aspects of Spiders such as Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and the like. According to Spider-Man himself, no one is more of a powerhouse than Morlun: “Nothing’s ever hit me that hard. Not the Hulk. Not Thor. Nobody.” As a result, it’s clear that Morlun is by far the biggest threat on the new Sinful Six, despite having someone as formidable as the Juggernaut who’s known for packing a major punch as well.

Juggernaut isn’t Even the Strongest Villain on His Horrifying New Team

Seeing as how Spider-Man’s first one-on-one fight with Morlun nearly killed him, there’s no telling what will happen to Peter Parker if he continues facing all of these villains on his own. While it’s very likely that Spider-Man will soon be killed (a new era is coming where his clone Ben Reilly takes over), it seems as though Spider-Man is going to have to weather the insane gauntlet that is Kindred’s endgame, wanting Peter Parker to be punished for his sins related to One More Day and the deal he made with the demon lord Mephisto.

In any case, the odds are stacked against the Webslinger, especially given the fact that there are now Six Sinister teams going after Spider-Man, and the one with Juggernaut on it has Morlun as their heaviest hitter. If things don’t change soon for Peter Parker where the scales can somehow be tipped in his favor, he’s not going to have a prayer at taking them all on and defeating Kindred as Sinister War continues.
