Juggernaut Becomes JUGGER-MELON in New Marvel Fan Art

Juggernaut Becomes JUGGER-MELON in New Marvel Fan Art

In some great new fan art, Marvel and X-Men’s Juggernaut gets a whole new name and title for the summer. Instead of his classic red color aesthetic, one fan artist decided to throw in some green and fruitiness. While nothing can stop the Juggernaut due to his powers from the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, neither can anything slice him as the fearsome Jugger-Melon. Read on to learn more and see the fantastic artwork.

The fan art was made and posted on Reddit by artist u/SilphiumWhite, featuring the foe of the X-Men with a new watermelon theme and motif, most likely do the the melon shaped design of his head and massive helmet he wears originally. His entire costume resembles the outside of a watermelon, with a perfect pink color for his middle, seeds and all. The cherry (or should it be watermelon?) on top is the background featuring several slices of the refreshing summertime fruit.

While this artwork is great and absolutely hilarious, X-Men fans know just how formidable a a foe Cain Marko truly is. The step brother of the famous Charles Xavier, Cain Marko had a hard life until he found the mysterious Crimson Gem of Cyttorak, which turned him into its avatar as a human Juggernaut. Marko would then go on to seek revenge against his step-brother, whom his own father seemed to like more than himself growing up. With his newfound powers, Juggernaut would become a longtime enemy of the Xavier and his X-Men.

Over time however, Juggernaut has gone back and forth between being bad and good, eventually finding some reconciliation with his step-brother, and even becoming a part a few different incarnations of the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants respectively. During the events of World War Hulk, Juggernaut chose to protect Xavier from Hulk’s wrath, going toe to toe, and even held his own for good amount of time. While the Incredible Hulk gets stronger the angrier he gets, Juggernaut becomes unstoppable once he builds momentum. With another rematch on the horizon it will be interesting to see if one beats the other this time, or if it will just end in a stalemate.

The caption for the fan artwork claims that nothing can slice the Jugger-Melon. Does this mean that if Wolverine were to try and cut Jugger-Melon with his claws he’d fail? It’s interesting to think about, and perhaps this means that Jugger-Melon is as powerful as he is comical. If he can’t be sliced like a watermelon, does this mean that he’s invulnerable and can’t ever be destroyed? Would Jugger-Melon be able to take over the world and defeat the X-Men? While these answers probably won’t ever be answered (perhaps u/SilphiumWhite could be asked?), at the very least it’s fun to think about, and the fact that a depiction of Jugger-Melon is out in the world at all is epic and hilarious.
