Jordan Mailata Sends Good Luck Video To Masked Singer Finalists

Jordan Mailata, who appeared as Thingamabob in The Masked Singer season 7, sent well-wishes to finalists Firefly, Ringmaster and Prince ahead of the finale. The Philidelphia Eagles player won over panelists’ and fans’ hearts with his unexpected vocal talent during the first group of performers in season 7. The Team Cuddly contestant performed renditions of “Wanted Dead Or Alive” by Bon Jovi, “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and “Classic” by MKTO. His Ed Sheeran cover was so emotional that he brought Ken Jeong to tears as the panelist revealed that emotional moments like Jordan’s performance is what keeps him coming back each season.

Luckily, Thingmabob made it to the top three of his group but sadly was sent home in a double elimination along with Cyclops, who was revealed to be Lost actor Jorge Garcia. When he was unmasked, the panelists were shocked as no one expected the NFL player to have such an incredible voice. After his reveal, the star shared that he’s loved music his whole life and he’s not opposed to releasing his own music sometime in the future. In his clue package, Jordan included a tree ornament of Hotel California, seemingly referencing the 1976 song and album by The Eagles, and a Bald Eagle, which both point to his football team.

While Thingamabob didn’t make it to the finale, he’s been a good sport and recorded a special video for the three contestants who will be competing for the masked trophy. The Masked Singer Twitter account shared the video of Jordan wishing luck to Firefly, Ringmaster and Prince as they battle it out in the season 7 finale. “Hey guys, it’s Jordan Mailata, aka Thingamabob,” he said. “Just wanted to wish Firefly, Prince and Ringmaster a big congratulations for making it to the final.” He went on to praise the contestants’ talents, calling the finale “a close competition” as all three finalists have incredible voices. Jordan concluded, “All the best and good luck.

Contestant Thingamabob was a fan-favorite of the season because of his furry green costume and lovable nature. While fans online read into the contestant’s clues and traced them back to the football player, the panelists had a more difficult time guessing the athlete’s identity. Jenny McCarthy was sure Thingamabob was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and guest panelist Eric Stonestreet believed Omar Benson Miller was behind the mask. When it was time for their final guesses, none of the panelists chose Jordan and instead went with stars like Liam Hemsworth and Michael Strahan.

It’s great to see that Jordan isn’t too bitter about his elimination. The finalists surely appreciated the Thingamabob shoutout, and hopefully, it helped calm their finale nerves. The former contestant is correct in that the finale will be a close call as season 7 has featured some of the most talented performers in The Masked Singer history. It’s truly anybody’s game, and no matter who wins, it will be well-deserved.

The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
