Joao Franco and Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph from Below Deck Down Under season 2 have created quite the boatmance this season, and they seem like the perfect match. When Joao first joined the Northern Sun after bosun Luke Jones was fired for sexual harassment, he immediately caught Tzarina’s eye, but not in a good way. Tzarina’s friend once dated Joao, and he allegedly broke her heart. It was Tzarina’s mission to be cruel to Joao, at first, but the two struck quite the friendship, especially after Tzarina’s crush on Culver Bradbury went awry.
After Culver started dating new steward Jaimee Neale, Tzarina and Joao became closer than ever. The two would often joke in the galley while Tzarina was cooking, plus they would always gravitate toward one another during crew nightouts. As the weeks went on, it was becoming more and more clear that Joao and Tzarina wanted to be more than friends. The pair finally made their boatmance official last week when Joao spent the night in Tzarina’s bunk.
Joao & Tzarina Knew Each Other Before Below Deck Down Under
When Joao first joined the boat, Tzarina remembered him right away. A couple of years before starring in Below Deck Down Under season 2 together, Tzarina dated a good friend of Joao’s while Joao dated a good friend of hers. However, Joao and Tzarina’s friend ended on bad terms, and Tzarina immediately had her walls up with him. While they had that familiar connection, the chef didn’t feel she could trust the bosun. It took Joao time to break down those walls and let Tzarina see he wasn’t the bad guy she thought he was.
They Seem To Have Similar Personality Types
Both Joao and Tzarina are two people who don’t take life too seriously and enjoy having fun. However, they are both serious about their careers and doing the best they can to be the best. Joao and Tzarina would work so well as a couple outside of Below Deck Down Under for this reason. They would not only encourage each other in their career endeavors, but they would also be there for each other for emotional support. They are two people who are driven and love to have fun: a match made in heaven!
Joao & Tzarina Are Always Looking Out For Each Other, Like Couples Do
Even though Joao and Tzarina will likely never be boyfriend and girlfriend, they looked out for each other a lot during the season like couples in a romantic relationship do. They checked up on each other throughout the day, offered each other words of affirmation, and even shared a hug here and there, even when the days were busy. Joao and Tzarina have quickly become the most talked about boatmance in Below Deck Down Under season 2, and even though they didn’t make it outside the yacht, they were perfect while it lasted.
