Jimmy AND Saul Are Wanted In Better Call Saul Season 6 Teaser

Jimmy McGill and Saul Goodman share a wanted poster in a new teaser for Better Call Saul season 6. Bob Odenkirk’s shady Breaking Bad lawyer scored his own AMC series beginning in 2015.

Now it’s seven years later and the tale of Jimmy McGill aka Saul Goodman is set to wrap up with Better Call Saul season 6. Of course there’s more to this tale than just McGill’s transformation into the lawyer who once made a bundle helping Walter White stay out of trouble on Breaking Bad. As fans of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s crime-story universe know, con-man McGill also has another alter ego in seemingly mild-mannered Cinnabon manager Gene Takavic. The story of Gene, sprinkled throughout Better Call Saul in the form of mysterious black-and-white flash-forwards, presumably will also be wrapped up in season 6 – and that wrap-up may indeed represent the final end for Jimmy McGill himself.

It’s totally unsurprising that Jimmy and Saul both feature heavily in the latest brief Better Call Saul season 6 teaser, which plays around humorously with the idea of Jimmy being multiple people. Watch to the end though and there is a surprise appearance by the most mysterious character on the show – Gene Takavic himself. See the clip in the space below:

This new teaser indeed provides a nice encapsulation of the whole of Better Call Saul. Jimmy/Saul being wanted obviously is no surprise given all the cons that have been pulled throughout the course of the series. But Gene walking through at the end to tear down the poster provides a nice touch as Jimmy becoming the Omaha Cinnabon man is literally his attempt to erase his sketchy past from existence. It remains to be seen of course if Jimmy is ultimately successful in escaping the consequences of his actions. The somewhat foreboding tone of the show’s Gene flash-forwards does unfortunately hint that Jimmy is set to meet a bad end despite his efforts at disappearing. One crazy theory in fact holds that the flash-forwards actually take place before the death of Walter White on Breaking Bad, and that White is the one who finally does Gene/Jimmy/Saul in.

Walter White showing up on Better Call Saul to silence Jimmy McGill and his various alter egos forever would obviously be a shocking twist upon which to end the series. Fans will get to find out the ultimate fate of Jimmy McGill – and his wife Kim Wexler, who has her own secrets of course – when the first part of Better Call Saul season 6 debuts on AMC on April 18, 2022, with the second part debuting on July 11, 2022.
