Jersey Shore: Sammi’s Canceled Wedding Could Have Been Paid For By MTV

Former Jersey Shore star Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola could have had her now-canceled wedding paid for by MTV. Sammi was a part of all six seasons of the original series; however, she opted out of returning for the spin-off series, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, six years later. This decision mostly came from her relationship status at the time.

After Sammi and her former co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro called it quits for good, she began dating Christian Biscardi. In March of 2019, Sammi announced on social media that she and Christian had gotten engaged after two years of dating. The couple quickly began planning their dream wedding; however, they were soon forced to postpone it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After pushing back the wedding numerous times, Sammi and Christian ultimately called off their engagement for unknown reasons.

Had Sammi and Christian gone through with their wedding, the celebration could have been paid for by MTV. According to In Touch Weekly, the network “approached Sammi after hearing about her engagement.” They presented her with an offer through which she could have had her entire wedding paid for if she allowed for it to be filmed, similar to the wedding of Angelina Pivarnick and Chris Larangeira. Sammi ultimately declined the offer. She allegedly no longer wants anything to do with Jersey Shore, which is why she did not want her wedding to be televised. Not only has Sammi moved on from the world of reality TV but she also “isn’t after fame and money anymore.

Around the same time Sammi and Christian split, news broke that Ronnie would be stepping away from filming for the show. The combination of these two news stories led fans to believe there was a chance of Sammi making her debut on the spin-off series. Not only was her toxic ex no longer going to be involved but she was also newly single. To their disappointment, Sammi quickly denied these rumors on TikTok while also confirming she is in fact single. Since the original series came to an end, Sammi has found a new appreciation for living her life in private, which she wishes to continue doing.

While it is unclear the status of Sammi’s friendships with her former Jersey Shore roommates, they are respective of her decision to opt out of filming. In fact, when Jenni “JWoww” Farley got engaged earlier this year, she admitted that if she doesn’t film her wedding for the show, Sammi will be invited; however, if she and Zack Clayton do work out a deal with MTV to film their big day, they will not be inviting Sammi out of respect for her privacy. Jenni and Zack’s wedding will most likely be seen on the show sometime in the future. If the network offered to pay for the wedding of a former star of the show, there is no doubt the same offer will be made to Jenni and Zack, who are currently starring on the show.

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation airs Thursdays at 8pm on MTV.
