New DC Universe fan art imagines Jensen Ackles as the perfect Batman for The Brave and The Bold movie. Peter Safran and James Gunn’s DC Universe is being worked on as Warner Bros. Discovery starts over with DC’s interconnected on-screen franchise. Currently, the new Superman movie with David Corenswet is the first DC Universe movie that is in production, and several more projects are in various stages of development.
With a new Man of Steel in place, the DC Universe is also going to feature a fresh take on Batman, with the upcoming The Brave and The Bold movie set to focus on the Caped Crusader. As fans are regularly suggesting who should be the next actor to don the cape and cowl, popular digital artist Spdrmnkyxxiii shared his take on what Ackles could look like as the DC Universe’s Batman.
Spdrmnkyxxiii shared two renditions of Ackles as Batman in The Brave and The Bold, as he is depicted with and without the infamous Batcowl. Ackles has previously stated that he would love to play Batman in Gunn’s DC Universe, and has previously voiced the Dark Knight in the Tomorrowverse.

Why Hasn’t Batman Been Cast Yet For The DC Universe?
More than a year has gone by since Gunn and Safran announced their slate of upcoming DC Universe movies and TV shows. While other roles have started to get cast, no actor has yet to be tapped as Batman for the upcoming DC Studios reboot, despite The Brave and The Bold having hired Andy Muschietti to direct. There are, at this point, two crucial reasons why a new Dark Knight hasn’t been cast for the franchise.
One of them is related to the fact that The Brave and The Bold doesn’t currently have a script in place, as Gunn has confirmed numerous times on social media. Those involved will not start to look at actors for an audition until DC Studios has decided fully what the vision is going to be for said project, and this inevitably means waiting until the screenplay is finished or at least well on the way. Given that who the writer is for The Brave and The Bold hasn’t yet even been announced, it seems likely DC Studios will be taking their time with this stage of the process.
The other factor to take into account is that The Brave and The Bold doesn’t have a release date set yet, meaning it might be quite some time before shooting begins for the movie. If The Brave and The Bold isn’t set to arrive in theaters until a few years from now, there is no need to rush the casting process. That said, hopefully Gunn will give some updates on where The Brave and The Bold is currently at in terms of production later this year, whether the film is at the casting stage or not.
