Jenna Ortega Would Be Perfect For Alice Cullen In Twilight’s Reboot
Although many feel that Jenna Ortega should take up the role of Bella Swan in a Twilight reboot, the better character for her would be Alice Cullen. While Jenna Ortega certainly has the acting chops to play the franchise’s lead, as proven by her iconic performance as Wednesday Addams, Bella is a bit too regular for the actress. On the other hand, Alice Cullen is the perfect choice. As a quirky psychic vampire, Alice brings the unique character traits that Ortega is so good at portraying. Furthermore, Alice is a fan favorite character that tends to steal the spotlight, and Ortega would only serve to highlight that quality even more.
Another reason why Jenna Ortega would be better suited to play Alice rather than Bella is her fame. After Wednesday, Ortega has become something of a mega-star, and though taking up the role of Bella would certainly raise the hype for a potential Twilight reboot, in actuality, it wouldn’t really need it. In fact, it might be better to give Bella to a lesser known actor who can spark their career with the role. All in all, Jenna doesn’t need Twilight’s leading role, and Twilight doesn’t need Jenna’s fame. With this kind of stability, it would be nice to introduce newer actors.
Jenna Ortega’s Twilight Casting Probably Won’t Happen
Either way, Jenna Ortega likely won’t be cast in a Twilight reboot any time soon. Although Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke mentioned Jenna Ortega in her fan cast, that does not confirm that any such reboot is actually happening. And furthermore, Jenna Ortega may just be too busy. The actress is currently in the midst of Wednesday season 2 and the Bettlejuice remake, which doesn’t leave her with much time. Plus, Ortega’s star power only seems to be growing, leading her to be pickier about her projects. Though it isn’t impossible, fans will definitely have to wait for any more Jenna Ortega Twilight news.
