Jenelle Evans Insinuates Teen Mom Return Would ‘Save The Show’

Jenelle Evans insinuated that her return to Teen Mom 2 would “save the show” in a new TikTok three years after being fired from MTV. Viewers first met Jenelle when she starred in 16 And Pregnant season 2 back in 2010. After giving birth to son Jace, now 12, the North Carolinian signed over custody to her mother, Barbara. Since then, Jenelle’s chaotic personal life has been well-documented. From multiple arrests and arguments with ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith to meeting and marrying David Eason, Jenelle has become one of the most controversial figures of the Teen Mom franchise.

In 2018, David was fired from Teen Mom 2 after posting several homophobic tweets on Twitter. Although family, friends and fans alike warned Jenelle that David was not good for her, she continued to stick by her man. Jenelle was eventually fired from Teen Mom 2 herself in 2019 after David shot and killed her dog, Nugget. Although she has not been involved with the network since, fans recently began speculating that Jenelle could get her job back after MTV filmed a party she was at hosted by Briana DeJesus. The “lawsuit party,” which was also attended by Jade Cline, was meant to celebrate Kailyn Lowry’s court case against Briana being dismissed.

Shortly after the U.S. Sun reported on May 27 that Jenelle and Barbara were in talks to return to Teen Mom 2, Jenelle uploaded a TikTok insinuating that her return would ultimately benefit MTV. “The Ashley reached out to MTV who confirmed they have zero plans to hire you back,” a TikTok user previously commented. Jenelle took the time to respond to the comment on May 29, which also claimed that Jenelle began the rumor of her potential return. “I don’t know why you’re being so gullible or believing everything the media has to say,” Jenelle deflected. Claiming that all she has recently said about Teen Mom 2 is that MTV was at Briana’s party, Jenelle then suggested with a smirk, “But if [MTV] did add me back…I mean, let’s think about it…would it save the show?”

Although Jenelle has had some public arguments with David (and drama with former 90 Day Fiancé star Deavan Clegg) in recent years, the 30-year-old said in the TikTok that she ultimately doesn’t need to rejoin Teen Mom 2. “As for me, I’m doing just fine, sweetheart,” Jenelle stated. “Living my life and extremely happy.” Jenelle ended the minute-long video by remarking, “You love me but you hate me,” before blowing a kiss. MTV viewers and Jenelle’s followers seem split on the idea of the star returning to television. While some agree that Jenelle would make Teen Mom 2 more interesting, others think that she would be better off out of the spotlight. Some even suggested that Chelsea DeBoer, who quit in 2020, should return alongside Jenelle.

For now, it’s hard to tell where Jenelle and MTV’s relationship currently stands. Since Kailyn recently announced her departure after Teen Mom 2 season 11, the network could already be looking for a cast member to replace her. Jenelle’s reappearance would certainly switch up the Teen Mom cast dynamic, but fans’ polarizing reactions to Jenelle could easily lead to backlash, especially since she was originally fired. Since cameras filmed Briana’s party, however, it’s easily possible for Jenelle to make an appearance in future episodes.
