Jedi: Survivor’s 10 Best Star Wars Easter Eggs

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a fantastic game with tons of new areas and planets to explore, so it’s no surprise the developers snuck some little Easter eggs in for the fans. From cameos to lore, there is something to keep even the pickiest player happy hidden in Jedi: Survivor. While some Easter eggs are more obvious than others, and some are very well hidden.

While Jedi: Survivor‘s combat is arguably more important than its story purely because of the gaming medium, the depth of the Star Wars universe is what makes fans love it. Jedi: Survivor does a great job of blending lore with in-joke as it peppers its Easter eggs for fans to find. Here are some of the best Easter eggs players should keep an eye out for.

10 Jabba’s Pleasure Barge

Jedi: Survivor’s 10 Best Star Wars Easter Eggs

Up on a shelf in Pyloon’s Saloon is a throwback to Return of the Jedi hidden within Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. In the beams in the main bar is a mini version of Jabba the Hutt’s pleasure barge. The barge was last seen cruising the sands of Tatooine shortly before Jabba’s demise.

What makes this an amusing Easter egg is that Return of the Jedi takes place in 4 ABY, while Jedi: Survivor is set in 9 BBY. That means that Greez got a hold of a mini of Jabba’s barge a full 13 years before the event that propelled it to fame. This opens up the possibility that there is a ripe market for Jabba merch within the Star Wars universe.

9 There Is No Try Achievement

Cal lifts a small boat from tar in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

Unlocked through the course of the main story Force Lift is a great new power to have in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Using Lift and Slam, Cal is able to immobilize enemies or use the powers together to deal damage. One of the best uses for Force Lift is when using the new Blaster lightsaber stance to lift and then pick off multiple targets.

However, Force Lift can also be used to solve puzzles and move objects in Jedi: Survivor’s environment. One of these is a little Pit droid Cal meets early on after crashing on Koboh. The poor little guy’s boat is stuck in tar, and after learning Force Lift, players can help him and recruit him. Upon freeing his boat for the first time, players will receive the There Is No Try achievement, referencing Yoda’s words to Luke when training him on Dagobah.

8 Han Solo’s Scoundrel Jacket

Cal models the Star Wars Jedi Survivor version of Han Solo's jacket

Players who preordered the Deluxe Edition of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor got an extra little Easter egg in the form of some cosmetics. There are lots more customization options for Cal in Jedi: Survivor, from hair and beards to jackets and other clothes. While the Scoudrel jacket itself is a small Easter egg, the description is the real gem.

If players go to this jacket in Jedi: Survivor, the text reads: “A modest but striking jacket. Preferred by stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking nerf-herders.” This is, of course, a quote by Princess Leia during a heated exchange with Han Solo during The Empire Strikes Back. As the jacket is also a visual reference to the famous Corellian smuggler that’s two Easter eggs for the price of one.

7 B1 Droids Painting A Mogu

B1 battle droids paint a posed mogu while Cal looks on in Star Wars Jedi Survivors

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor players looking for Easter eggs of the cheekier side should head to Harvest Ridge on Koboh. There is a cave where players can climb up the wall and onto the ceiling to get across. On the right is a chest, however on the left is an area with a light, and next to the light is a gap that Cal can squeeze through. The tight squeeze goes on for quite a while, but players should sit tight because it is well worth the wait.

The gap opens up into a secret room filled with B1 battle droids painting a suggestively posed mogu. The droids are inactive, so players don’t have to worry about a fight as they take in the scene. Whether this is a droid-only art class or some strange local custom is unknown, but this is one Easter egg in Jedi: Survivor that has to be seen to be believed.

6 Rick The Door Technician

There are some truly fearsome bosses to fight in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor that will test the player’s skills. However, among the other bosses, such as rancor or High Republic Jedi is a lowly but enthusiastic stormtrooper. Rick the Door Technician has quickly become a fan favorite, with creative players even finding ways to spare him.

However, Rick is a clear nod to the character of Matt the Radar Technician from Adam Driver’s time on Saturday Night Live. During the sketch, Kylo Ren dons a disguise to interact with the crew under his command in a parody of Undercover Boss, becoming the legendary Matt the Radar Technician. Located on Nova Garon, Rick is ridiculously easy to defeat as despite having a boss title, he has the same amount of health as a regular trooper in Jedi: Survivor.

5 Master Cordova’s Jedi Insights

Cal listens to Eno Cordova as he speaks about Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

Jedi Master Eno Cordova is a wonderful source of information for lore-hungry Star Wars fans. Those who played Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order were delighted to see Cere and BD-1’s former master return as a character in Jedi: Survivor. Players can meet Cordova on Jedha and chat with him between missions, and he has tons of Jedi Master-related Easter eggs.

Cordova will happily chat about famous Jedi such as Yaddle, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Cal’s former master Jaro Topal. It is through these conversations that players can learn that Jaro Tapal was once Yaddle’s Padawan and that she had a strange sense of humor and trained harder than any other Jedi. Jedi: Survivor players can also learn that Qui-Gon Jinn showed Cordova around the Jedi Temple on Coruscant when he first arrived.

4 Jedi Sacred Texts

Merrin hands Cal the sacred Jedi text she saved as Greez looks on sadly in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

When visiting Cere and Cordova Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, players will see that they have been trying to rebuild the Jedi archives. After the harrowing attack on the Anchorite base on Jedha that sees Darth Vader himself in Jedi: Survivor as he arrives to deal with the Hidden Path, all that knowledge appears to have been lost again. However, upon returning to the Mantis, players can find that Merrin has managed to save three sacred texts.

These three battered books are the same sacred Jedi writing that Luke has on Ahch-To in The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. It’s odd to think that at some point, these important books will leave Cal and Merrin’s possession and end up with Luke. Although many hope that it means Cal may meet up with Luke or other Jedi in future Star Wars Jedi games.

3 The Nihil Of The High Republic

Eno Cordova references the Nihil to Bode and Cal in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

When Cal first meets Dagan Gera in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, he touches on the sleeping High Republic Jedi’s memories and players see the past through his eyes. As a heavily armed force attacks Tanalorr, they are never explicitly named as their ships drop out of hyperspace. Unfortunately, players never get an up-close look at who the ships belong to, but there is a small piece of dialogue that sheds light on this.

Fans who have read the High Republic comics and novels will be familiar with this foe, and when speaking to Corvoda, this can be confirmed. Although the name is never spoken out loud, the subtitles for Cordova’s explanation reveal them to be the Nihil. The Nihil serve as the primary antagonists throughout the High Republic stories, and it’s a shame that this Easter egg is hidden in the subtitles and never expanded on in Jedi: Survivor.

2 Spawn Of Oggdo

Spawn of Oggdo Defeated achievement with Cal standing over dead Spawn of Oggdo

One of the hardest early-game bosses in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on the planet Bogano, and looking like a giant toad-like creature, Oggdo Bogdo struck fear into the hearts of many players. For any hoping that they would never have to fight a massive angry frog again, Jedi: Survivor has the meanest Easter Egg.

Spawn of Oggdo is an optional boss found on Koboh and is one of the most difficult fights in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Found in Fort Kah’lin, Spawn of Oggdo has multiple unblockable attacks and will probably take a few attempts. However, for those who take on this fearsome creature, there is a nice reward in the form of one of Cal’s beloved ponchos, which makes another nice nod to Jedi: Fallen Order.

1 Boba Fett

Boba Fett speaks with Cal in Star Wars Jedi Survivor

The best Easter egg is also the best cameo in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. After meeting Caij Vanda, Cal will be able to get leads on bounty hunters who are after him. After taking them out, Cal can turn in their pucks for upgrades from Caij.

However, Caij has a trick up her sleeve and after defeating all 16 bounty hunters, Caij will turn on Cal to claim his bounty for herself. Enter the most famous bounty hunter of that time, Boba Fett himself, voiced by Temuera Morrison. Fett’s cameo is short and sweet lasting just long enough to make it cool without overstaying its welcome. Boba Fett is one of the most loved Star Wars characters, and seeing him in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will have any player, young or old, grinning.
